"The most interesting singer in any of these three operas is Cellia Costea, the Elisabetta di Valois. Costea has a
distinctive, dark-hued voice with an uncanny resemblance to her countrywoman Angela Gheorghiu's, especially in the
black-satin middle and bottom. The top can retain a soft, rounded quality or become more dramatic and cutting when
necessary. She is the only performer here who seems to understand and convey the scale of the drama through both
her committed, sympathetic acting and noble, sensitive singing. And as icing on the cake, she ends the opera with a
secure, blazing high B."

"... à commencer par Cellia Costea pour sa prise de rôle de Butterfly. Elle a été longuement ovationnée, à juste titre.
Son chant était très clair, plein de nuances. Son jeu avait toute la retenue que l'on imagine chez une jeune femme
japonaise de cette époque. Elle a terminé en pleurs sur scène, comme une partie de la salle. Selon moi LA révélation
de la soirée."

"Il giovane soprano rumeno Cellia Costea, venerdi 13 maggio 2011 al Teatro Politeama di Palermo, da
un’interpretazione di Tosca davvero avvincente e convincente. Ha una voce luminosa e corposa e, possiamo ben dire
che e stata la migliore interprete di "Tosca" degli ultimi decenni nella citta di Palermo: bella presenza scenica, voce
densa, rotonda, dal timbro roseo intenso e dotata di forza espressiva; nei momenti drammatici dell’opera (vedi scena
della tortura di Cavaradossi pilotata dalla cinica regia di Scarpia), la cantante ha dato il meglio delle sue capacita
interpretative."
