General Solicitation Contributions Record Keeping
Anonymous Contributions of $20 or Less

This supporting schedule is designed to assist you in meeting the requirements of subsection 404.4(2) of the
Canada Elections Act. Subsection 404.4(2) reads as follows:

If anonymous contributions of $20 or less per person are collected in response to a general
solicitation at a meeting or fundraising event related to the affairs of a registered party, a
registered association, a candidate, a leadership contestant or a nomination contestant, the
person authorized to accept those contributions must record the following:
(a) a description of the function at which the contributions were collected;
(b) the date of the function;
(c) the approximate number of people at the function; and
(d) the total amount of anonymous contributions accepted.
Filling out the schedule
Lorsque des contributions anonymes d’au plus 20 $ par personne sont recueillies lors d’une
collecte générale organisée à l’occasion d’une réunion ou d’une activité de financement pour
le compte d’un parti enregistré, d’une association enregistrée, d’un candidat, d’un candidat à
la direction ou d’un candidat à l’investiture, la personne autorisée à accepter les
contributions doit consigner les renseignements suivants :
a) une description de l’événement au cours duquel les contributions ont été recueillies;
b) la date de l’événement;
c) le nombre approximatif de personnes présentes lors de l’événement;
d) le montant total des contributions anonymes reçues.
Directives pour remplir l’annexe

Use one line of the schedule for each function at which anonymous contributions were
collected.

anonymes ont été recueillies.

Enter the date of the function.

Enter a description of the function – for example, campaign rally or fundraising dinner.

In column 1, enter the approximate number of people at the function.

In column 2, enter the total amount of anonymous contributions collected by general
solicitation (that is, by “passing the hat” or collection plate).

collecte générale (c’est-à-dire en « passant le chapeau » ou un autre récipient).
Note that no individual shall contribute cash in an amount that exceeds $20 in respect of each contribution. If
a cash contribution exceeding $20 is made, the amount in excess of $20 must be sent to the Chief Electoral
Officer, who will forward that amount to the Receiver General.
