Remember: you say Bonjour (Madame or Monsieur) to an adult or someone you don’t know well. You can say Bonjour or Salut to your family and friends. VOCABULAIRE (vocabulary) Pronunciation tips: on: in bonjour sounds like {ong}, without saying the ‘g’. Try and say the English word ‘song’ stopping short before the ‘g’. Then try bonjour. u: in tu and salut. Round your lips as if to say {oo} but say {ee} instead without moving your lips. Monsieur is pronounced {muhssiuh} Leçon 2 – ASKING AND SAYING YOUR NAME Comment tu t’appelles ? What’s your name? -Note: you can also say: Comment t’appelles-tu ? Je m’appelle Polly.
