I. WEB SITE/SITE INTERNET
The EMLex web site (http://www.atilf.fr/emlex; only in French: sorry about that!) is a useful
source of information. If you understand even a little bit of French, try to visit it regularly.

II. MOST URGENT STEPS TO BE TAKEN BY FOREIGN STUDENTS
1. First of all, you have to enrol at the earliest possible moment at the Université de
Lorraine (even if you are an Erasmus Mundus student):
 If you are a national of a member state of the European Union (EU):

un compte” at the bottom of the page).
Take the following path : Université de Lorraine  Nancy  Master “Sciences Humaines
et Sociales”, mention “Sciences du langage et didactique des langues”, spécialité
“Lexique, textes, discours”, parcours “European Master in Lexicography (EMLex)”.
 If you are a national of a state which is not a member of the European Union (EU):

(begin by clicking on “Register” on the left-hand side).
Take the following path : Université de Lorraine  Nancy  Master “Sciences Humaines
et Sociales”, mention “Sciences du langage et didactique des langues”, spécialité
“Lexique, textes, discours”, parcours “European Master in Lexicography (EMLex)”.
2. Second, if you are a national of a state which is not a member of the EU, you have
then to apply for a long stay student visa (visa D; do not apply for a tourist visa, which
would compel you to leave the country after three months!). This applies even if you are
an Erasmus Mundus student.
When applying for your visa, please specify that your second semester will be held in
Katowice (Poland).

III. FIRST SEMESTER/1er SEMESTRE (NANCY)

IV. SECOND SEMESTER/2e SEMESTRE (KATOWICE)
The second semester will be held at the University of Silesia in Katowice (Poland), under the
responsibility of Monika Bielińska ([email protected]).
Dates of the semester in Katowice: February 20–June 9 2017 (before the start of the classes,
there will be an integration week)
During the second semester abroad, weeks during which classes taught by lecturers of the
various universities of the EMLex consortium will alternate with weeks of private study.
N.B. Students are advised to organize their internship of the third semester (see V. below)
during the summer holidays between their first and their second year of study.

V. THIRD SEMESTER/3e SEMESTRE (NANCY)

VI. EMLEX WATERING HOLE
Éva Buchi organizes a weekly get-together of two hours for all first and second year EMLex
students enrolled at the UL called EMLex Watering Hole. Students may attend this (very
flexible) class in order to “recharge their batteries”: ask questions about the EMLex
curriculum, get advice about their homework (in particular about assignments from the
e-learning-classes “Foundations of lexicography” [first year] and “Current problems of
lexicography” [second year]), prepare their semester abroad (in particular, putting together
requests for grants to Erasmus+ and to Région Grand Est [for students who are not Erasmus
Mundus scholarship holders]), organize the internship of the third semester (selecting a
company or a research institution, CV, motivational letter, internship contract).
During the academic year 2016/2017, the EMLex Watering Hole will be held [time slot
pending] (first meeting: [date pending]), in Éva Buchi’s office (office 116, first floor of the
CNRS building of the ATILF lab).
Éva Buchi propose un rendez-vous hebdomadaire de deux heures aux étudiants EMLex de
M1 et M2 inscrits à l’UL. Il s’agit d’une séance de travail très souple appelée
EMLex Watering Hole où les étudiants peuvent venir se ressourcer : poser des questions en
rapport avec le cursus EMLex, être conseillés pour leurs devoirs (notamment ceux des cours
en ligne « Foundations of lexicography » [M1] et « Current problems of lexicography »
[M2]), préparer leur semestre à l’étranger (notamment montage des dossiers de demande
d’aide financière Erasmus+ et Région Grand Est), mettre en place le stage pratique du 3e
semestre (choix d’une entreprise ou d’un centre de recherche, rédaction du CV, de la lettre de
motivation et de la convention de stage).

En 2016/2017, le EMLex Watering Hole se tiendra le [à préciser] (première séance : [à

VII. EMLEX PARTY/SOIRÉE EMLEX
All first and second year EMLex students enrolled at the UL, as well as EMLex graduates
from the UL, are invited to the EMLex party which will be held at Éva Buchi and Alain
Fagot’s (22, rue Jamerai Duval, 54000 Nancy, tel. 03.83.98.18.20) on October 14 2016 from
7 p.m. on.
Les étudiants EMLex inscrits à Nancy, que ce soit en M1 ou en M2, de même que les
diplômés EMLex de l’UL, sont invités à dîner chez Éva Buchi et Alain Fagot (22, rue Jamerai
Duval, 54000 Nancy, tél. 03.83.98.18.20) le 14 octobre 2016 à partir de 19h.
