Dr. Vasumathi Badrinathan Dr. Vasumathi Badrinathan heads the Department of French of Ramnarain Ruia College, University of Mumbai. Dr. Badrinathan holds a Masters from the University of Franche-Comté, France and a doctorate in didactics of languages and cultures from the University of Charles de Gaulle, Lille 3, France. With wide experience of over twenty-seven years, Dr. Badrinathan is one of the pioneering experts on didactics of foreign language (French), intercultural studies and teacher training in India. She has many international research publications to her credit which include the book she co-edited in French L'Enseignant non natif : Légitimité et identités dans l'enseignement-apprentissage des langues étrangères (EME: Belgique, 2011). Dr. Badrinathan is the Vice President, West Zone, Indian Association of Teachers of French and also serves on the board of many Indian universities as an expert. She is regularly on the scientific and review committees of conferences and publications across the globe, as well as a visiting professor to many universities. Apart from academics, Dr. Badrinathan is a recognized singer of Indian classical Carnatic music. A cultural ambassador for India, she represents her country in many national and international world music festivals.
