Marne-la-Vallée, a area which is still just as attractive for companies
Marne-la-Vallée, a area which is still just as attractive for companies and real estate investors 31.03.2015 In 2014, the Marne-la-Vallée public development authorities, EPAMARNE and EPAFRANCE, finalised the sales of a floor area of almost 145,000 m2 of economic activities with an additional floor area of 100,000 m² signed up under preliminary contracts of sale, with the prospect of more than 4,400 new jobs in the area into the bargain. The renewed confidence of investors and companies confirms Marne-la-Vallée's position among Grand Paris' main service sector destinations. The sustainable city's business district, the future service sector hub centrally located in the Descartes Cluster With 700,000 m² of offices already developed, the area's leading service sector cluster is continuing its development with a potential floor area of 400,000 m² of offices and 104,000 m² of business plots to be built around Cité Descartes, the leading R&D centre for sustainable cities in France. The planned siting in 2020 of the future Grand Paris Express station is already attracting the interest of investors and companies. The new 10,000 m² headquarters of the French timber industry technological institute (FCBA) has, since the month of January 2015, been the workplace for 150 employees in a high environmental quality approach. In addition, the CASDEN cooperative bank for Education, Research and Culture signed a preliminary contract of sale with Les Nouveaux Constructeurs for the building of its offices with a floor area of 19,000 m², with the prospect of 500 jobs into the bargain. Rapidly increasing attractiveness of the Montévrain/Val d'Europe cluster In the Marne-la-Vallée's second service sector cluster, EPAMARNE and EPAFRANCE have signed deeds for the siting of more than 95,000 m² of offices and business plots, including: The Legendre Group, assigned by Disney to develop "Le Bellini", a service sector complex with a floor area of more than 22,000 m² centrally located in Val d'Europe's urban centre Integrated Development Zone in Chessy, with the prospect of 1,800 jobs; Carré Haussmann Promotion for the building of luxury offices on a floor area of 9,500 m² in Jossigny, in the Pré au Chêne Integrated Development Zone, where 500 jobs are due to be created; The headquarters of the regional logistics department of the Aucan Group, on a plot with a floor area of more than 60,000 m² in the Coutenois Integrated Development Zone in Serris, where 300 jobs are expected. The public authorities also signed ten or so preliminary contracts of sale, including: The Sodéarif Group, for the development of a service sector programme with a floor area of 12,200 m², in the University's Integrated Development Zone in Montévrain, where 600 jobs are to be created; Goodman, for a supply chain project with a floor area of 33,500 m² in Bailly-Romainvilliers, at the junction between the Integrated Development Zones of Prieuré Est and Prieuré Ouest. The development of tourist programmes is continuing and the range of hotel accommodation in Val d'Europe's international tourism cluster is expanding with the building by the Legendre Group of a new 2-star hotel including 400 bedrooms in the Courtalin Integrated Development Zone in Magny-le-Hongre. The Villages Nature project is progressing: in 2014, the deeds were signed for the development of this eco-tourism programme unique in Europe, which is to include 920 tourist accommodation units, recreational amenities, shops and restaurants, representing a floor area of more than 90,000 m². Jointly led by Pierre & Vacances and Euro Disney, it represents €730 million in private investment and the creation of 4,800 jobs. As an illustration of the confidence investors have in the area, Val d'Europe's new development phase provides for the development of service sector and tourist businesses with a floor area of 625,000 m² and is expected to create 16,000 direct jobs.
