Author :
Ghislaine Thibault is born in Montreal on February 1, 1961, studied literature and languages at John Abbott
College, then screenwriting and creative writing at the Université du Québec à Montréal. She also obtained a
degree in translation from Concordia University. She started her own written communication company, Scribe
Communications in 1997. Since then, she has published more than 1,700 articles for various Canadian weekly
magazines. In 2004, Ghislaine was a finalist in La Tribune – Salon du livre contest, for her story entitled Le
paquet. Passionate about horses and a kid at heart (she says she’s only ten years old, though we know that
is not true!), she is now presenting her very first children’s book, Furies à l’écurie, the first installment of the
Anne-Sophie series. This book is both simple and touching.

Il a plu à verse toute la fin de semaine. Les chevaux sont encore nerveux en raison des orages qui se sont
abattus sur la région. La pluie a rendu le manège extérieur inutilisable au moins jusqu’à demain. À sept heures
ce matin, nous avons sorti les bêtes dans leurs enclos extérieurs, en partie inondés et très boueux. Nos trois
principaux chevaux de compétition occupent deux de ceux-là : Dynamo et Rythm ensemble, Lady Blue seule.
Forte et vive, la jument peut avoir des accès de colère. Un faux pas d’un congénère et la morsure vient,
presque assurée, quand ce n’est pas la ruade. Nos six autres chevaux de compétition se partagent quatre
enclos. Enfin, les huit chevaux d’école et les huit pensionnaires constituent « le troupeau ». Ces seize bêtes
occupent le plus vaste terrain clôturé.
