La lecture: teaching notes
There are three listening activities based on this recording about Lydia’s reading habits.
The first is a straightforward ‘listen and identify the phrases heard’ and would be suitable for top
set Year 9 pupils or Key Stage 4.
The second activity is a ‘true, false, not given’ listening task designed with Key Stage 4 and AS
learners in mind.
The third task is a ‘listen and find the French for…’ task. It is the easier elements in what the
speaker says that have been targeted but some of the verb forms may be quite challenging.
