The P a t r i c i a group i s l o c a t e d a t about t h e 3,000 f o o t
e l e v a t i o n on t h e n o r t h s i d e of t h e Marmot River, about I$ m i l e
e a s t of Kate Ryan Creek, and 6 m i l e s s o u t h e a s t of Stewart.
F i v e claims, t h e P a t r i c i a , S i l v e r Link, P a t , I r o n Mash, an
Monarch, w e r e owned by H.C. Magee & a s s o c i a t e s from about 1921
During t h e period 1921 t o 1925 a d r i f t a d i t a t t h e 1,600 f o o t
e l e v a t i o n was d r i v e n 115 f e e t , and open c u t t i n g was done on t h
showings a t t h e 3,000 f o o t e l e v a t i o n .
Marmot Consolidated Mines, Limited, which was formed i n
June 1927, acquired about 40 claims i n t h e P a t r i c i a , North
Fork Basin, and o t h e r groups, i n c l u d i n g a l l t h e ground on t h e
w e s t end of t h e r i d g e between t h e Marmot River and Kate Ryan
Creek. No work was r e p o r t e d on any of t h e s e groups and t h e
company c h a r t e r was surrendered i n 1930.

The showings a r e n e a r t h e edge of t h e Coast Range bathol i t h , some i n t h e b a t h o l i t h , some i n a s s o c i a t e d g r a n o d i o r i t e
dykes, and some i n a d j a c e n t a r g i l l i t e . A t t h e 1,600 f o o t
e l e v a t i o n an a d i t h a s been d r i v e n on a small q u a r t z v e i n i n
t h e g r a n o d i o r i t e . The v e i n s t r i k e s N15OW (mag.), d i p s v e r t i c a l ,
i s 1 f o o t o r l e s s i n width and pinches o u t about 75 f e e t from
t h e p o r t a l . A branch v e i n j o i n i n g t h e v e r t i c a l v e i n a few f e e t
below t h e f l o o r of t h e a d i t i s a l s o exposed f o r a s h o r t
d i s t a n c e . The v e i n s a r e mineralized w i t h p y r i t e , galena, and
s p h a l e r i t e , and a r e r e p o r t e d t o c o n t a i n good v a l u e s i n gold.
A t t h e 3,000 f o o t e l e v a t i o n open c u t s expose narrow, q u a r t z
gash v e i n s mineralized w i t h p y r i t e and c h a l c o p y r i t e . The
v e i n s l i e on both s i d e s of a l a r g e dyke of g r a n o d i o r i t e t h a t
s t r i k e s northwesterly more o r less p a r a l l e l t o t h e main
b a t h o l i t h i c contact.
