Communicating for food security
1. Food Security Communications Toolkit from FAO: This toolkit is geared to helping food
security professionals develop a communication strategy and communicate more effectively
with their target audiences. Specific sections of the toolkit focus on policy makers and the
media, because of the important role they play in implementing and influencing food security
policies. While aimed at professionals working in food security related fields, the lessons in
this toolkit can easily be applied to many other fields.

2. EC-FAO Programme online course on "Linking Information and Decision Making to Improve
Food Security" The course provides guidance on how to design and implement a
communication strategy for food security information. Using several realistic examples, the
course illustrates the various components of a communication strategy, and provides concrete
and detailed guidelines on how to communicate through the media and how to present
information to policymakers in order to influence the policymaking process. Available in
English, French and Spanish.
