L’université des sciences et technologies Kwame Nkrumah a été fondée en
1951 et a pris toute sa dimension en 1961.
Avec 42 590 étudiants et 6 collèges, elle est la plus importante université
au Ghana leader dans le domaine de la science et la technologie.
Principales filières
Les diplômes couvrent tous les niveaux. Plus de 60 Licences/Bachelors dans les domaines de l’ingénoièrie, l’agriculture, la communication, l’architecture, la santé et les sciences sociales. Une dizaine de Masters Spécialisés dans les domaines de l’agriculture et

PROFILE
Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) was
established in 1951 and became a full-fledged university in 1961. With
a total student enrolment of about 42 590 students in 2015/2016, it is
one of the largest universities in Ghana. KNUST is recognized as the lead
university in matters of science and technology. KNUST has six Colleges,
and these Colleges run a broad range of undergraduate and graduate
programmes in science and technology. Being a comprehensive university,
the programmes are enriched with input from social sciences, business
and humanities derived from the other Colleges.
Main programmes of study
Degrees offered include Undergraduate and Postgraduate courses as
narrated below:
More than 60 Bachelors in the fields of engineering, agriculture, communication, architecture, health and social sciences. Around 10s specialized Masters in the fileds of agriculture, sustainable
environment, planning development and management
Research
Research in KNUST is a priority evident by the numerous researches
being undertaken on and off campus. The university continuously seeks to
advance knowledge through dedicated research teams in the Departments,
Institutes and Centres. Our research spans from arts through science and
technology to other important areas. We also have a centralized database
system which stores information on our research areas and publications.
The Office of Grants & Research (OGR) serves as a centralized university
office for funded research. The Office provides research and grant administration support services to sponsored research activities in KNUSTOur

Location
The University is situated approximately on a sixteen square-kilometre
campus of undulating land and pleasant surroundings, about seven
kilometres away from the central business district of the city of Kumasi.
The campus presents a panorama of beautiful and modern buildings
interspersed with verdant lawns and tropical flora, which provide a cool
and refreshing atmosphere congenial to academic studies. It has within the
short period of its existence become an important centre for the training of
scientists and technologists not only for Ghana, but also for other African
countries as well as from other parts of the world.
