Update from Queens University - Canadian Dermatology Association
August 2015
Update from Queens University
Mark Kirchhof, MD
Greetings from Queen’s University, Canada’s newest academic dermatology division. We have
experienced tremendous change in the past several months. Drs. Asai, MacSween, Moran and
Kirchhof successfully delivered the division’s revamped undergraduate dermatology course. We
also contributed to several CME endeavours, including the Medicine CME Day, the Dermatology
CME Day and the Dermatology Procedural Skills CME Day.
The division has published three papers in 2015, and several research projects are underway. Drs.
Asai and Kirchhof presented at the World Congress of Dermatology in Vancouver in June and
chaired several sessions. We are grateful to those who helped bring such a great event to Canada
and for giving us the opportunity to be involved.
The most recent development in the division is the addition of Mohs surgery. Dr. Moran has been a
welcome and much-needed addition to South Eastern Ontario. We look forward to future
collaborations with our colleagues across the country and around the globe. We appreciate all of
the excitement and support of our Canadian colleagues in this new venture.
Drs. Benvon Moran, Yuki Asai and Mark Kirchhof
