CALL FOR BOOK REVIEW EDITOR
The Canadian Historical Review (CHR) invites applications for the position of Book Review Editor. The position
begins on 1 July, 2016, and is for a three-year term. The call for applications will remain open until 1 April,
2016. Founded in 1920, the CHR is Canada’s flagship historical journal, and publishes four times a year, both
online and in print. The CHR publishes articles in both French and English that address historical issues of
interest to Canada and Canadians, and an international readership.
The role of the Book Review Editor is to solicit reviews on books in the field of history in Canada, and the
journal publishes annually up to one hundred reviews. Those interested in applying for the position should
submit a current curriculum vitae and a brief statement highlighting any previous editorial experience and ongoing scholarly interest in the field of Canadian history.

([email protected]). The editors encourage applicants to familiarize themselves with the journal’s
scope and history.

recensions, pour un mandat de trois ans commençant le 1er juillet 2016. Les candidatures seront acceptées
jusqu’au 1er avril 2016. Fondée en 1920, la CHR est le périodique d’histoire le plus en vue au Canada. Quatre
fois l’an, en ligne et sur papier, la CHR publie, en anglais et en français, des articles sur des questions d’histoire
du Canada qui intéressent la population canadienne ainsi qu’un lectorat international.
Chaque année, jusqu’à cent recensions d’ouvrages dans le domaine de l’histoire canadienne paraissent
également dans la revue. La directrice ou le directeur des recensions a pour mandat d’obtenir la revue ou la
critique de telles publications. Les personnes qui souhaitent poser leur candidature à ce poste doivent nous
faire parvenir leur curriculum vitae le plus à jour, accompagné d’une lettre faisant état brièvement de leur
expérience dans le domaine éditorial et de leur intérêt intellectuel suivi pour l’histoire du Canada.
