JGH This Week Mar 13-27 2003
Happy Purim to all! On the holiday of Purim (this year on March 18, 2003), Jewish people commemorate their deliverance from Persian oppression in the year 368 B.C.E. The holiday is a festive occasion. Jewish people the world over celebrate by reading the Megilla (Book of Esther), giving charity, participating in masquerades and eating the haman-tosh (a three-cornered cookie) which will be served in the hospital. This year, the Megilla will be read on March 17th at 7 :30 p.m. in room A-139 or on the hospital television channel 33. It will also be read on March 18th at 10 :00 a.m. in the chapel (6th floor.)
