Mars est le Mois de la nutrition
Le thème du 23e Mois de la nutrition est le suivant:
Manger sainement… c’est simple et savoureux!
La
campagne proposera aux femmes des solutions aux défis d’une saine alimentation – pour elles-mêmes et leur famille. Venez visiter dans l’Atrium nos stands de nutrition le mardi 11 mars, de
10 h à 13 h, et le mercredi 26 mars, de 11 h à 14 h.
Des diététistes et des étudiants en diététique de
McGill
répondront à vos questions, vous renseigneront sur la nutrition,
évalueront votre indice de masse corporelle et votre tour de taille, etc.
Durant tout le mois de mars, le Service de diététique organisera également une
collecte d’aliments. Nous vous prions d’aider les personnes défavorisées en
donnant des aliments cachères non-périssables. Tout les profits seront versés à
Le Mercaz, une banque alimentaire et vestimentaire sans la communauté.

March is Nutrition Month
The theme of the 23rd Annual Nutrition Month is Healthy Eating…
Tasty and Easy! The focus is on helping women find solutions to
healthy eating challenges for themselves and their families. Come visit
the nutrition booths Tuesday, March 11 from 10 a.m -1p.m., and
Wednesday, March 26 from 11 a.m. – 2 p.m. in the Atrium. Dietitians
and McGill dietetic students will answer your questions, provide nutrition information, determine your body mass index and waist circumference, and much more.
The Dietetics Department will also be holding a food drive during the
month of March. Please help those less fortunate by donating nonperishable, kosher food. All proceeds will go to Le Mercaz – a clothing
and food bank resource centre within the community. Donations can
be dropped off in the main lobby.

Le point de MIRE : l’excellence
AIM for Excellence
Douze équipes d’agrément examinent actuellement les normes de pratique et
de prestation de services. Reconnues à l’échelle nationale, ces normes ont été
élaborées par le Conseil canadien d’agrément des services de santé (CCASS)
en consultation avec des professionnels de la santé de tout le pays. Cette
révision nous permettra de vérifier que notre prestation de soins est en tout
point conforme aux normes canadiennes. Du 2 au 6 novembre 2003, les
visiteurs du CCASS viendront sur le site pour interviewer les équipes et faire
le tour de l’Hôpital. À cette occasion, trois groupes de réflexion mettront ces
visiteurs en contact avec le personnel, des patients et des partenaires de la
communauté. Le CCASS a rappelé aux organismes de soins de santé que
l’amélioration de la qualité demeurait le principe clé du programme MIRE.
Twelve Accreditation Teams are currently meeting to review standards of practice and service delivery. These nationally recognized
standards have been developed by the Canadian Council on Health
Services Accreditation (CCHSA) in consultation with health professionals across the country. Our review allows us to ensure the care
we deliver meets Canadian standards. A site visit to interview the
teams and tour the hospital is scheduled for November 2-6, 2003.
Included in this visit are three focus groups allowing surveyors to
meet with staff, patients, and community partners.

Hormone Replacement Therapy
A public lecture entitled “Sex After the Menopause and Hormone Replacement Therapy” will be held on March 20th at
7:30 p.m. at the Gelber Conference Centre. The lecture will feature Dr. Lauri Betito, psychologist, sex therapist and CJAD Radio talk show host, as well as Dr. Wulf Utian, Executive Director, The North American Menopause Society. The cost of the
