Smart Grid + Smart City – 2nd edition
A new place and new dates:
Paris Porte de Versailles, 7-8 October 2015
2014 Review
The Congress (Conferences + Exhibition) centred around Broadband and Smart Grids
to serve Cities and Territories has established its pedigree right from its 1st edition.
Such winning synergy, marked by outstanding visitorship, market expert exhibitors,
dynamic exchanges, and attractiveness of the conference agenda of both IBS Trade
Show and SmartGrid + SmartCity Congress, helped pool 4,644 professional visitors(*).
The Congress provided an opportunity for having an update on market trends (smart
grids, smart cities, smart transports, smart metering, MtoM, and smart services, a supplemental approach to the smart building offering), and helping businesses and local authorities set up smart technologies serving citizens.
This major professional meeting helped raise issues within a fast-growing industry
The data boom initiated through the deployment of NICTs has resulted in
ultra-connected cities which are now facing data security hazards. Today, protective
solutions are available.
With respect to smart grid interoperability, open developments are emerging in
Europe, thus helping integrate data generated by a variety of networks.
And also to provide material answers for cities and citizens
As a response to the development of new urban uses, in particular electric vehicles
which require networks to be adjusted, multiple solutions now help store and integrate
renewable energy sources in current power supply networks and urban smarts grids.
Mobile networks play a prominent part in the technical and value chain for the
development of smart cities, and provide access to applications and cloud computing
which help bring together local authorities and the citizens they are answerable to.
Today, deploying ultrafast broadband (UFBB) networks over any territory is a further
key factor added to a community's other attractiveness factors and helps attract active
households and especially businesses.
Synergy with the IBS (Intelligent Building Systems) Trade Show to be held concurrently
with
the Smart Grid + Smart City Congress
(*) including 1,327 visitors specifically attending the Smart Grid + Smart City event
KEY DATA:

individuals, will live in urban areas by 2050.
The Smart Cities market should increase fourfold by
2020, to $2.1 billion (source: Nikkei BP)
The global Smart Electrical Grid market will be an
estimated €30 billion in 2015, or an estimated
annual growth of approx. 10% (source: RTE)
