2014 Review
The Congress (Conferences + Exhibition) centred around Broadband and Smart Grids
to serve Cities and Territories has established its pedigree right from its 1st edition.
Such winning synergy, marked by outstanding visitorship, market expert exhibitors,
dynamic exchanges, and attractiveness of the conference agenda of both IBS Trade
Show and SmartGrid + SmartCity Congress, helped pool 4,644 professional visitors(*).
The Congress provided an opportunity for having an update on market trends (smart
grids, smart cities, smart transports, smart metering, MtoM, and smart services, a supplemental approach to the smart building offering), and helping businesses and local authorities set up smart technologies serving citizens.
This major professional meeting helped raise issues within a fast-growing industry
The data boom initiated through the deployment of NICTs has resulted in
ultra-connected cities which are now facing data security hazards. Today, protective
solutions are available.
With respect to smart grid interoperability, open developments are emerging in
Europe, thus helping integrate data generated by a variety of networks.

As a response to the development of new urban uses, in particular electric vehicles
