In addition, with an inshore and offshore fleet made up of nearly 2,993 ships and port infrastructures that are growing. Thanks to the multiple free-trade agreements concluded with several countries, Morocco has become one of the largest producers and exporters of the seafood in the Arab world and Africa. CANNED FISH Morocco has the specie «Sardina Pilchardus Walbaurn» which is worldwide known for its taste quality. Morocco is the world largest producer/exporter of canned sardines. There are 41 production units that produce canned sardine, mackerel, and tuna with more than 120 thousand tones in 2012.
