RULES OF FIAV 2014
ARTICLE 1
The International Festival of Video Art of Casablanca (FIAV) is organized by the Faculty of
Letters and Humanities, Ben M’sik Casablanca. The aims of the festival are:
- Organize an event related to video art and contemporary arts, to promote creation, and advance
the work of young artists, including students.
- Provide a link between filmmakers, artists, and students throughout Morocco and the world.
- Provide support to the new filmmakers and creators of audiovisual works.
ARTICLE 2
The FIAVC intended for professional and amateur of audiovisual artworks.
ARTICLE 3
The nineteenth edition of FIAV will take place between the 22nd and the 26th April, 2014 in
Casablanca, Morocco, in the places listed in the brochure of the Festival.
The FIAV reserves the right to change the dates of the event.
ARTICLE 4
The deadline for submitting artworks for selection is the January 31st, 2014. All artworks along
with the application form are to be sent to the FIAV held at the Faculté des Lettres et des
Sciences Humaines Ben M’sik, BP 7951 Hay El Baraka Casablanca. Morocco.
The DVD copies will not be returned, they remain in the video library of the Festival.
ARTICLE 5
Each video must be accompanied with an application form and signed rules of participation.
ARTICLE 6
Artists whose works are selected by the jury, will be notified by mail during the month of
January 2014.
ARTICLE 7
The organizers accept no responsibility for the sent Masters in case of loss, theft or damage in
its way.
ARTICLE 8
The Works presented are deemed to be free of all intellectual property rights. Participants in
FIAV yield, without consideration, the right to broadcast videos selected for non-commercial
screenings for the festival, and the right to reproduce images or excerpts of less than one minute
of these videos dissemination in the media, including TV channels or Internet.
ARTICLE 9
As for a professional request, details of directors and videographers will be forwarded by the
Committee of the FIAV.
ARTICLE 10
The Festival supports the accommodation, meals and transportation, during the festival period,
in Casablanca.
ARTICLE 11
The Festival does not take charge of transportation outside Casablanca.
ARTICLE 12
The Festival does not support the family or friends accompanying the artists during
their visits to FIAV.
ARTICLE 13
Participation in FIAV implies acceptance of this settlement, which must be duly signed and
sent to the Directorate of FIAV with the DVD.
ARTICLE 14
All disputes are subject to Moroccan law and jurisdiction of the Courts of Casablanca.
