William Adjété Wilson - Magnin-A
William Adjété Wilson
Lives and works between Paris, Benin, Togo and Haiti.
William's art is greatly inspired by his travel through Africa and his education and study in the art and spirituality of Vodou. His large-scale pastel and
other artwork focus on cultural identity and the relationships between continents due to slavery. In collaborating with Valentin Valris from Haiti, he
wanted to explore modern Haitian Art and its African roots and context. Their vodou flags echo back to African origins, while also representing the
history of the Haitian people. He hopes his work will keep his heritage alive, while also showcasing the influence of African art and culture across the
globe.
