A Lecture Series Created and Presented by Fritz Reichert L’Octalogie de Paris is a series of eight interrelated topics about Paris, France, presented in nine lectures. The lectures are designed to provide the audience with a unique, comprehensive understanding of a) how Paris has evolved into a sophisticated international city over the past 2000+ years, b) what the city is today and c) how it will be changing in the future. The lectures will be premiered in 2017 exclusively for French for Breakfast with Caroline Latron. PREMIER LECTURE SCHEDULE 2017 January 8 How Paris became Paris (Comment Paris est devenu Paris) February 12 Governance (La gouvernance) March 12 Districts of the Left Bank (Les arrondissements de la Rive Gauche) April 9 Districts of the Right Bank – Part 1 (Les arrondissements de la Rive Droite) May 14 Districts of the Right Bank– Part 2 June 11 Bridges over the Seine (Les ponts de Paris sur la Seine) July 9 Paris suburbs (Les banlieues Parisiennes) August 13 Paris gardens (Les jardins publics de Paris) Sept. 10 The Future (Le Futur) Each lecture is approximately 15-20 minutes and is presented in a graphical/visual format with a narrative explanation in French at the beginner to intermediate-level.
