Summer school for exchange students (French courses free of charge):
2 weeks in August. 20 hours/week.

Forms must be signed stamped by the authorised person at home university and
sent by post to the International Mobility Office at INSA.
Application Deadlines
The deadline for receiving exchange student applications for autumn
semester start is 01 May, and for a spring semester start 15 November.
Please note that unfortunately we cannot process any late applications.

During the week prior to the beginning of the semester/summer school.
Orientation Dates & Academic Fair
Individual orientation by our Exchange coordinators a few days before the beginning
of courses.

Frequently Asked Questions
Are the French Language courses
offered free to Exchange students?
Yes, we organise French courses free of charge for all Exchange students during
the year. 1h30/week – 14 weeks = 1.5 ECTS/semester.
French courses are also given at summer school*. 20 hours/week = 2.5 ECTS. To
apply, pleased send an e-mail to: [email protected] before 1st June
and ask for the “Summer school enrolment form”.
*Summer school: 2 weeks – August 2012
Accommodation at INSA
What housing does INSA provide?
INSA Rouen Campus at Saint Etienne du Rouvray
Student accommodation is provided by INSA. All Exchange students are guaranteed
accommodation if they apply before the deadline. Otherwise students should apply
for private housing.
INSA site at Le Havre: students are given assistance to find a room.

Self-Catering accommodation: €290-370. Students will be expected to pay one

month’s deposit on arrival (which will be reimbursed when they leave) and 1
month’s rent.

Health Insurance
Before arrival
Exchange students must take out a health and accident insurance policy prior to
their arrival in France (European Health Insurance Card, a completed E-128 form or
private health insurance policy).
On arrival
To register as an INSA Student, it is necessary to subscribe to the French Social
Security Health Insurance System; it is compulsory for all students and costs
200 €/year. Please note that it is free of charge for citizens of European countries
who are in possession of a valid European Health Insurance Card (E-128 form).
