Ottawa: Victim Attacked and
Pursued
On May 24th at approximately 2am a male victim was assaulted
when leaving a night club located in the 300 block of Queen
Street.
The victim was heading towards his parked vehicle in an
adjacent parking lot when he was swarmed by a group of males
believed to have followed him from the night club. The victim
was able to break free and flee the area, but returned later
to find his vehicle damaged. When leaving the area the group
believed to be responsible for the attack pursued him in their
vehicle for a short distance before giving up. The victim
sustained minor injuries as a result of the assault.

Ottawa Assault
Transit Driver

On Tuesday March 26th at approximately 11:30 pm an OC Transpo
driver was assaulted by a male passenger.
The male passenger boarded the bus at the South Keys Shopping
Center with what the driver believed to be an expired
transfer. The passanger was questioned about the transfer
and sucker punched the driver. The driver sustained facial
injuries from the physical assault. Please view the attached

Ottawa Road Rage Incident
UPDATE: MALE HAS BEEN IDENTIFIED AND CHARGED.
On February 28th 2013 at approximately 9:30am a male exited
his vehicle and assaulted the other driver in the area of
McCarthy Dr and Walkley Road.
The victim was punched to the ground and while fleeing the
area drove over the victim’s foot. The suspect vehicle was
last seen going east bound on Walkley road. The victim was
treated for his injuries.
Suspect Desc; Wht male, 30’s, 5’10”, muscular build, square
facial feature, short blonde hair
Vehicle Desc; Blk SUV, tinted windows, believed to be a Buick
Enclave or similar. Partial marker of BMYW *** or similar.

Ottawa Male Wanted for Theft
and Assault with a Weapon
UPDATE: Male has been arrested.
On February 9th a male entered a drug store located in the
3900 block of Innes road and selected several items then
left without paying.
When the male exited the store with the products it activated
the security alarm which alerted staff. While fleeing, the
suspect struck one of the staff with his vehicle and is now
wanted by the police for theft and assault with a weapon.

Ottawa Seeking Identity of
Male in a Sexual Assault
The Ottawa Police Service Sexual Assault and Child Abuse
Section is investigating a sexual assault that occurred in the
West end of Ottawa on February 22, 2013 at approximately
1:00am.
A teenage female was walking in the area of Eagleson Road and
Hazeldean Road when a male driving a black SUV stopped and
offered her a ride home. Once inside the vehicle the victim
was driven to a secluded area on Robertson Road just East of
Eagleson Road.
The suspect is described as a black male, approximately 20
years old, 182 cm (6′), large muscular build, short black
curly hair. He was wearing a black winter jacket with fur on
the hood. The vehicle is described as a black SUV similar to a
Hummer.

Ottawa Sexual Assault in East
End

assault.
On August 30, 2012 at approximately 8:30 pm, a 19-year-old
woman was walking on Jeanne d’Arc Boulevard towards Highway
174 when she was inappropriately touched by a male who walked
by her in the opposite direction.
The suspect is described as a white male in his mid-thirties,
5 feet 6 inches (168 centimeters), 180 lbs (82 kilograms),
medium to dark blonde hair, heavy build and wearing a red
short sleeve shirt and blue jeans.

Ottawa Aggravated assault-

leaving the victim seriously injured.
The victim was attending the Skybar, located at 172 Rideau
Street in the City of Ottawa on the 25 th of June, 2012.
At
approximately 2:25am., a brief skirmish erupted on the
sidewalk outside of the front door, with seven-to-eight males
engaging in a physical confrontation with the victim. While
attempting to protect himself from the group, the victim was
punched in the head and fell, unconscious to the ground.

On Friday May 11th 2012, at approx 11:00 pm a disturbance
occurred at a restaurant on Rideau Street, Ottawa. During a
fight a person was injured and the police are now looking for
a suspect with regards to an assault bodily harm.
Suspect: White male, approx 5’10”, 20 – 25 years old. He was
wearing black clothing at the time.

Ottawa thefts and robberies
of electronic devices
Crime Stoppers and the Ottawa Police Service are seeking your
assistance in order to solve thefts and robberies of
electronic devices.
Since October 1st, 2011 approximately 50 thefts and robberies
have been reported in the city of Ottawa where an electronic
device has been specifically targeted. Year to date, personal
robberies are up 8% and swarmings have increased by 20% over
the same period in 2010. This represents 46 more swarming and
13 more personal robberies.
In many instances the thefts /robberies are happening on OC
Transpo buses where the thief dashes off the bus after the
theft or at an OC Transpo stop while people are waiting to
board a bus. In most cases the devices are simply being
grabbed from the hands of unsuspecting victims. However, in
some cases, people have been assaulted during the course of
the thefts, escalating the crime to robbery (please see the
text below for safety tips).

Safety tips:

Be alert to your surroundings and avoid isolated
areas, in particular after dark and when withdrawing money
from ATMs;

Travel with multiple friends whenever possible;

Be wary of inadvertently displaying possessions of
your cell phone and audio devices; and,
–
Let someone know where you are going and when you
can be expected home.
Know what to do if you become a victim:

Do not resist your attackers, they may be armed and
this could lead to serious injury or death;

Try and memorize their faces, clothing and license
plates if they leave in vehicles;
–
Call 911 as soon as possible, or if you are around
an OC Transpo facility look for an emergency call box; and,
–
If you are a student and are robbed at school or by
someone from your school, report the event to security or the
administrative office as well as to the Ottawa Police Service.

achalandés où des dispositifs électroniques sont la cible des
malfaiteurs.
Depuis le 1er octobre 2011, près de 35 vols simples et vols
qualifiés ont été signalés, où un appareil électronique était
particulièrement ciblé. Jusqu’ici cette année, les
détroussements ont connu une hausse de 8% et les vols en
groupe ont augmenté de 20% par rapport à la même période l’an
dernier. Ceci se traduit par 46 vols en groupe et 13
détroussements de plus.
Dans bien des cas, les vols/ détroussements se passent dans
des autobus d’ OC Transpo buses ou le voleur se sauve après
avoir volé l’item ou a un arrêt d’OC Transpo lorsque le monde
attendent pour au autobus. Bien souvent, les dispositifs sont
simplement arrachés des mains des victimes sans méfiance.
Toutefois, il est arrivé que des gens soient agressés lors de
la commission d’un vol, augmentant la gravité du crime.

graves ou même la mort;
Tâchez de mémoriser des détails comme les visages et
l’habillement de vos agresseurs, ainsi que leur numéro
de plaque, s’ils s’enfuient à bord d’un véhicule;
Appelez le 911 aussitôt que possible ou si vous vous
trouvez près d’une installation d’OC Transpo, recherchez
une boîte d’appel d’urgence; et
Si vous êtes étudiant et vous êtes victime d’un vol à
l’école ou par quelqu’un de votre école, signalez
l’incident aux autorités scolaires et au Service de

from the bottom zipper Strong body odour Smell of alcohol on
