SUMMER EVENT
Celebrating CWF and UNIVERSITY OF GENEVA's Mentoring Programme
In the magical setting of the Tennis Club of the Eaux-Vives, the Summer Event was a wonderful
opportunity to discover the different mentoring experiences. CWF's 38 mentors and the
University's 40 mentees celebrated the conclusion of the pilot phase of their new partnership.
In September, we will launch the official start of the Mentoring Program after this successful
pilot phase. After a second speed-dating which will be slightly improved based on the feedbacks
of our first experience, we will start the Mentoring beginning of October with new couples of
mentees and mentors as well as a majority of the mentors of the pilot phase.
Thanks to all again for having made this possible and for making it such a success.

Pour célébrer le programme Mentoring CWF et UNIGE
Dans le décor magique du Tennis Club des Eaux-Vives, le Summer event était une occasion
magnifique de découvrir les différentes expériences de mentoring. Les 38 mentors du CWF et les
40 mentees de l'université ont fêté ensemble la conclusion de la phase pilote de leur nouveau
partenariat.
En septembre aura lieu le lancement officiel du Programme après le succès de cette phase pilote.
Après un second speed-dating, amélioré en fonction des remarques et suggestions qui nous ont
été faites à la suite de notre première expérience, nous commencerons le Mentoring au début
octobre avec de nouveaux couples mentors-mentees, ainsi que la majorité des mentors de la
phase pilote.

The press covered largely and with enthusiasm our Mentoring intiative: many articles were
published since December 07 on our Mentoring program (BILAN, FEMINA, Tribune de Genève,
LE TEMPS, 20 minutes).
Odile Habel from ELLE MAGAZINE Suisse published in June 08 a very good article on the
purpose of this initiative and on the CWF.

La presse a couvert largement et avec enthousiasme notre projet Mentoring: plusieurs articles
ont été publiés depuis décembre 2007 au sujet de ce programme (BILAN, Fémina, Tribune de
Genève, Le Temps, 20 Minutes).
Odile Habel de ELLE MAGAZINE Suisse a publié en juin 2008 un très bon article sur les
objectifs de ce projet et sur le CWF.

NEW INITIATIVES
Women over 50 :
FOUNDING MEMBERS ARE ON THE MOVE!
On June 10th, the Founding Members and the Past Presidents joined the Committee for a "think
tank" dinner. A new initiative involving the issues of women over 50 in the professional world
was born. Anyone interested just click here!

This new initiative will also be run on a European level as agreed by the Presidents of EPWN
(European Professional Women's Network). Caroline Miller joined all of them in Milano end of
June for the Annual Meeting. Our Geneva intiative was highly welcomed and we have decided to
run it on a European level and publish a book on the topic. It will be the 9th EPWN book
published.

Femmes de plus de 50 ans
Les membres fondatrices sur la brèche
Le 10 juin, les membres fondatrices et les past-présidentes ont rejoint les membres du comité
pour un dîner "think tank". Un nouveau projet concernant la situation des femmes de plus de 50
ans dans le monde professionnel est né. Si vous êtes intéressée, cliquez ici!

Ce nouveau projet sera aussi mené au niveau européen en accord avec les présidentes du EPWN
(European Professional Women's Network). Caroline Miller s'est jointes à elles à Milan pour
l'assemblée générale annuelle. Notre projet genevois a été très bien accueilli et nous avons
décidé d'en faire un projet européen et de publier un livre sur ce sujet. Ce sera la neuvième
publication de EPWN.

Corporate Project:
CORPORATE MEMBERS FORUM
On June 24th, twenty-two members, mainly Corporate Members, joined together to organize an
exclusive workshop. On the top of the Agenda: management awareness of women diversity and
on the key role of women as a vital business value.
The workshop will be held at the end of January 2009 and has been renamed WOMEN
ECONOMIC FORUM.
Four main groups have been selected to carry out a new event that promises to be a great success.
BILAN magazine will be our main partner. CEOs and senior partners of our Corporates will be
our panellists, successful female CEOs in Europe, Federal ministers of Switzerland and other
guest stars will be speakers.
This is a joint event of all our 9 Corporates members.
And big news! We are absolutely delighted to welcome the following new Corporates:

FORUM MEMBRES ENTREPRISES
Le 24 juin, 32 membres, la plupart Membres Entreprises, se sont réunies pour organiser un
workshop spécialement destiné à nos membres Entreprises. A l'ordre du jour: mise en évidence
auprès du management des spécificités féminines et de la position clé des femmes comme valeur
de l'entreprise.
Le workshop aura lieu à fin janvier 2009 et a été renommé WOMEN ECONOMIC FORUM.
Quatre groupes ont été formés afin d'organiser un nouvel événement qui promet d'être un succès.
Le magazine BILAN sera notre partenaire principal. Les directeurs et le senior management de
nos membres entreprises participeront à une table ronde, des femmes CEO reconnues en Europe,
des femmes ministres en Suisse et d'autres invités renommés seront nos orateurs.
C'est un forum destiné à nos 9 membres Entreprises.

NETWORKING WITH MCR
Micheline Calmy-Rey to become next year's CWF speaker?
Our CWF President, Caroline Miller and past President Karen Saddler, joined Micheline CalmyRey at the British And Swiss Chamber of Commerce (BSCC) at the Hotel Beau-Rivage for a
prestigious lunch open to the region's top managers.
Caroline was at the Headtable with Micheline Calmy-Rey and she shared a full hour talking
about women's issues in the diplomatic world. MCR gladly accepted to come back to the CWF as
a speaker in 2009. She will be invited for our Women Economic Forum alongside Doris
Leuthard.

Micheline Calmy-Rey, oratrice du CWF en 2009?
Notre présidente, Caroline Miller, et Karen Saddler, past-présidente, ont rencontré Micheline
Calmy-Rey dans le cadre d'un déjeuner prestigieux organisé à l'Hôtel Beau-Rivage par la British
And Swiss Chamber of Commerce (BSCC) auquel étaient invité le top management de la région.
Caroline était à la table d'honneur avec Micheline Calmy-Rey et a partagé une conversation
d'une heure au sujet de la position des femmes dans le monde diplomatique. MCR a accepté avec
plaisir de revenir au CWF en tant qu'oratrice en 2009. Elle sera invitée à notre Women
Economic Forum en compagnie de Doris Leuthard.
