Home Owners Association VOLUME: 2013 CORAL CAY PLANTATION ISSUE: JANUARY Dear Residents, How time flies when you are having fun! It has been almost one year since your new HOA Board has been installed. We know that we cannot make everyone happy but many of you have taken the time to thank us and express your satisfaction with the job we have done. The applause and standing ovation at the end of our December General meeting meant more to us than you could ever know. Please note that due to the fact that there are no contested seats for the 2013 election there will be no balloted vote. Under State law as mandated by Chapter 723 our Secretary will cast the one required vote for incumbent nominees. It has come to our attention that there may be a faction of residents who are working against our membership drive. I am very sorry to hear that. I cannot stress enough how important your membership is to your lifestyle here in Coral Cay. Under Florida laws if a community, such as ours operating under Chapter 723, does not have the required number of members the owning company/management is under no obligation to hear our complaints or negotiate for improved community conditions. In Florida’s recent history many communities have closed or deteriorated because of a weak Homeowner’s Association. Parks have become run-down, people have abandoned their homes, others have sold and moved elsewhere; all because there was not a strong enough Association to bargain and fight on behalf of its residents. Do not let that happen here. If you have already joined thank you, but please urge your neighbors to do so too. We must stand strong and united – strength in numbers allows us to push for a better life style and conditions. $15.00 is sometimes hard to come by; but it will be worth it in the long-run. Please make your check out to HOA; include your lot #, and drop it in the mail slot in our office door at the Heritage Clubhouse today. We have many exciting events coming your way. This newsletter will outline a few and hint at others to come. We hope you all decide that our lifestyle here is exactly what you had wished for in your retirement (or nearing retirement) years. It is my opinion that we have one of the better communities around and if we could just pause and take a moment to enjoy what we have we would be better off for it. My Board and I wish you and yours a Healthy and Happy New Year Respectfully serving each and every member of the great community of Coral Cay……… Elaine Sylvia, President Save the date On Saturday February 23, 2013, something magical will be happening here at Coral Cay. Mark your calendars and save the date – you won’t be disappointed! I'm looking forward to 2013. As some of you know by now Simon no longer handles sales and leasing for Coral Cay. Although he still works out of our office he is responsible for a large region of properties sales and leasing. This leaves me responsible for property management and sales and leasing. To help me with these additional responsibilities I have asked Olga to assist me with office work and Raj to assist me with property work. Since I have been here I have always tried to answer every phone call and email with in the day. Please do not drop by the office to see me – please call first and make an appointment. Or 90% of the questions can be answered by a phone call or email, and again I will return phone calls and emails by the end of the day. Also, just because we are refunding the $3.00 you spent to purchase the bracelets, DOES NOT MEAN WE ARE DISCONTINUING THE PROGRAM. The only difference; you no longer have to pay for the bracelets. PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE, when in the common areas of the community, wear your bracelets. It helps residents, staff, and the Margate Police Department identify you when you are in the common areas of the community. Thank you. We invite all male residents of Coral Cay to join the club. The purpose of the club is to promote fellowship and good will amongst members of the club and the community. Also to assist the community as deemed appropriate in accordance with the by-laws of the HOA. In the past the Men’s Club has sponsored several picnics one of which is on the 4th of July. Also we sponsored several breakfasts including a breakfast for the Rent Raffle Drawing. We will also sponsor our 5th Annual Mothers Day breakfast, [the women residents of the park were served breakfast at no cost]. The Club has, conducted its “4th annual rent drawing” with a prize of $700.00 to offset the cost of a months rent. The purchase of a ticket entitles the purchaser one ticket to breakfast on the day of the drawing. We will continue the “rent drawing” and breakfast in the future with the prize to be announced. We will also be sponsoring our 4th Annual Super Bowl Bash. The club hopes to sponsor another fishing trip, a trip to a Marlins game and a golf outing. One of the benefits of becoming a member of the club is that members will pay less for tickets to events. The cost of membership is only $10.00. Attend 2 functions and you will have your money back. You may attend the next Men’s Club meeting on the last Tuesday of the month at 7PM in the Sports Center. We will be accepting dues payments at the meeting. Please complete the short form below with your membership dues. We hope you will take the time to join the Men’s Club and participate in the meeting & events. We certainly would appreciate help at our functions. Thanking you in advance for your consideration Sincerely, Robert Sweeney, President & The entire Men’s Club Executive Board Le Men’s Club de Coral Cay est présentement en campagne de recrutement de membres pour l’année 2013.
