Allergy Notice
We have a child at École Laurier who is severely allergic to tree nuts, fish and shellfish. Exposure to even
small amounts of these items is extremely dangerous
and possibly life-threatening.
We ask all parents to help us to prevent this child being exposed to tree nuts, fish and shellfish by checking that food products sent with your child to school
does NOT contain these products.
Also, please discourage your own child/ren from sharing his or her lunches or snacks while at school.
See you soon!
Don’t forget…Tuesday,Oct.06th is our
annual Thanksgiving Potluck Supper.
We have asked that each family bring
non-perishable food items for the
Ste.Rose Food Bank, and we will also
have a raffle. Tickets will be $2 each.
We are very excited to see all of our
families at this great gathering!
Parents, please be reminded that when your child is sick or will be absent and not riding the school bus you must contact the bus driver directly. Also if there are any regular bus route changes (other kids riding to your house or your child riding to somewhere else), the bus driver and the school must be informed. The school also asks that you call the office and notify the school of any illnesses or absences by 9:30am. Divisional Cross Country Run
The Divisional Cross Country Run was held at the McCreary Golf Course on
Tuesday, September 29th. Seven of our students competed in this event.
Congratulations to all the participants!
Taking second place in the grade 7-8 division for the girls was Emmalie Thompson.
Congratulations Emmalie!

Bag up Manitoba
École Laurier is once again participating in the “Bag up Manitoba” program
sponsored by Take Pride Winnipeg. This program fits into our school goal on
sustainability! We ask that all students and staff collect as many plastic
shopping bags and bread bags as they can.
Take Pride Winnipeg Inc. is a private, non-profit organization whose mission
is to inspire community pride, raise public awareness and promote citizen
responsibility in making the community clean and beautiful. A large part of
its focus is on elementary schools, because they believe that educating and
empowering young people is the best way to manifest change.
Participating schools will receive a garden box, made from recycled plastic
bags.
Students can drop off all of their plastic bags in the tub near the school
office.
