DR. WILLIAM MILLER,
PRESIDENT
Dr. William (Willie) Miller has served
on the CAR Board of Directors
since 2010 and was a member of
the Board of Chancellors of the
American College of Radiology
from 2013-2015.
Dr. Miller was Chief of Neuroradiology at The Ottawa Hospital
and Director of MRI at The Ottawa Hospital Civic Campus
from 2001-2006. From 2008-2015, he served as Deputy Chief
and Chair of the Diagnostic Imaging at The Ottawa Hospital,
after his term as Interim Chief and Chair of the same department from 2006–2008. Dr. Miller is currently an Assistant
Professor at the University of Ottawa.
Dr. Miller graduated from the Faculty of Medicine at the
University of Manitoba. He completed a rotating internship at
McGill University in Montreal and then went on to practice as
a family physician for 13 years before undertaking a 4-year
radiology residency at the University of Missouri. He completed
his training with a 2-year neuroradiology fellowship at the
University of Toronto and has been practicing neuroradiology
in Ottawa since 1999.
Dr. Miller’s current areas of interest include quality and safety,
radiation safety, clinical decision support and appropriateness of diagnostic imaging, health care system sustainability,
as well as the gamut of diagnostic neuroradiology.
Dr. Miller is an avid photographer, golfer, and skier. He is
married to a pediatric radiologist, Dr. Julie Hurteau, and is
the proud father of their son, Jacob.

Le Dr William (Willie) Miller siège au Conseil d’administration de la CAR depuis 2010. Il a parallèlement représenté
la CAR au Conseil des chanceliers de l’American College of
Radiology de 2013 à 2015.
Après avoir été chef de la neuroradiologie à l’Hôpital
d’Ottawa et directeur de l’IRM au Campus Civic de l’Hôpital
d’Ottawa (2001 à 2006), le Dr Miller a été chef et directeur
intérimaire du service d’imagerie diagnostique à l’Hôpital
d’Ottawa (2006 à 2008), puis chef et directeur adjoint de ce
même service (2008 à 2015). Il est actuellement professeur
adjoint à l’Université d’Ottawa.
Diplômé de la Faculté de médecine de la University of
Manitoba, le Dr Miller a effectué un internat par rotation
à l’Université McGill, à Montréal. Il a ensuite exercé à titre
de médecin de famille pendant 13 ans, avant d’entreprendre
une résidence en radiologie de 4 ans à la University of Missouri
et une formation postdoctorale de 2 ans en neuroradiologie à
la University of Toronto. Il exerce en neuroradiologie depuis
1999, à Ottawa.
Le Dr Miller s’intéresse vivement à la qualité et à la sécurité des services, à la radioprotection, à l’aide à la décision
clinique, à la pertinence des examens d’imagerie diagnostique, à la viabilité du système de santé et à tout ce qui
touche la neuroradiologie diagnostique.
Photographe accompli, le Dr Miller aime aussi jouer au golf
et faire du ski. Époux de la Dre Julie Hurteau, radiologiste
pédiatrique, le Dr Miller est père d’un garçon, Jacob.

DR. JACQUES
LÉVESQUE,
PAST PRESIDENT
Dr. Jacques Lévesque completed his
medical education in 1975. After he
graduated in diagnostic radiology
at McGill University in Montreal
in 1981, he worked at the Hôpital
St-François d’Assise in Quebec City
(1981–1991) and at the Centre
hospitalier de l’Université Laval in
Ste-Foy (1991–1994). From 1998 to 2004, Dr. Lévesque
was Chief of the department of radiology at the Centre
Hospitalier Universitaire de Québec. He is currently a Clinical
Professor in radiology at the Université Laval and President
and co-owner of the Clinique radiologique de la Capitale in
Quebec City.
Involved in the establishment of new technologies in his region
and in the province of Quebec, Dr. Lévesque is responsible for
the implementation of PACS for all 52 establishments of the
Réseau universitaire intégré de santé de l’Université Laval
(RUIS Laval). He is also active in the shared procurement
process for advanced medical technology, worth a budget of
$315 million, where he oversees the clinical and technical
evaluation of the recommended equipment.
Since 1993, Dr. Lévesque has been on the Board of Directors
of L’Association des radiologistes du Québec, first as Secretary
and then as First Vice President. He has been particularly active
in mammography projects (establishment of the Programme
québécois de dépistage du cancer du sein), BMD, new techno­
logies as well as fee negotiations. As a CAR Board member,
Dr. Lévesque wishes to uphold radiologists’ rights as medical
imaging specialists in Canada and ensure that their professional autonomy and their claims for a modern practice in
radiology are respected.
Dr. Lévesque is married and the father of six children.

DR JACQUES LÉVESQUE,
ANCIEN PRÉSIDENT
Le Dr Jacques Lévesque a complété sa formation médicale en
1975. Suite à la réception du diplôme en radiologie diagnostique en 1981 à l’Université McGill à Montréal, il a travaillé à
l’Hôpital St-François d’Assise dans la Ville de Québec (1981–
1991) et au Centre hospitalier de l’Université Laval à Ste-Foy
(1991–1994). De 1998 à 2004, le Dr Lévesque a été chef du
département de radiologie du Centre hospitalier universitaire de Québec. Il est présentement professeur clinique de
radiologie à l’Université Laval et président/copropriétaire
de la Clinique radiologique de la Capitale, Ville de Québec.
Impliqué au niveau de l’implantation des nouvelles techno­
logies dans sa région et dans la province de Québec, le
Dr Lévesque est responsable de la mise en œuvre du dossier
PACS pour les 52 établissements du Réseau universitaire
intégré de santé de l’Université Laval (RUIS Laval). Il est également actif dans le processus des achats regroupés en haute
technologie médicale, dont le budget s’élève à 315 millions
de dollars, et en est le responsable de l’évaluation clinique et
technique de l’équipement proposé.
Depuis 1993, le Dr Lévesque siège au Conseil d’administration de l’Association des radiologistes du Québec, où il a été
secrétaire, puis premier vice-président. Il a été particulièrement actif avec les dossiers de mammo­graphie (implantation
du Programme québécois de dépistage du cancer du sein),
d’ostéodensitométrie, des nouvelles technologies ainsi que des
négociations de taux. En tant que membre du conseil d’administration de la CAR, le Dr Lévesque entend défendre les droits
des radiologistes à titre de spécialistes de l’imagerie médicale
au Canada et s’assurer que leur autonomie professionnelle et
leurs revendications à une pratique moderne de la radiologie
soient respectées.
Le Dr Lévesque est marié et père de six enfants.

DR. EMIL LEE,
VICE PRESIDENT
Dr. Emil Lee is a community
radiologist with the Valley Medical
Imaging group in the Fraser Valley,
east of Vancouver and Head of the
Department of Medical Imaging of
Langley Memorial Hospital.
Dr. Lee is Past President of the British
Columbia Radiological Society and the
British Columbia Medical Association Section of Radiology,
having served as President from 2010–2012. He has been a
member of, and continues to serve on, many provincial, health
authority and local committees.
DR. MICHAEL BARRY,
SECRETARYTREASURER
Dr. Michael Barry received his medical
and radiology training at Dalhousie
University, finishing his program in
1987. Since then, he has practiced
radiology at the Saint John Regional
Hospital/Horizon Medical Network,
serving as Chief of the radiology
department for 11 years. He is also the Founding President
of Atlantic Diagnostic Medical Services.
Dr. Barry is currently an Assistant Professor in Radiology at
Dalhousie University. Advocating on behalf of the radiology
profession is his passion and the prime reason behind his decision to get involved with the CAR Board. Dr. Barry has served

Dr. Carolyn Flegg received her
medical degree from the University
of Saskatchewan. Following her
radiology residency training at
Queen’s University in Kingston, ON,
she completed a fellowship in Oncology
Imaging through McMaster University
at the Henderson Hospital site in
Hamilton, ON.
In 2007, after working at the Henderson Hospital for a
year following her fellowship, Dr. Flegg returned home to
Saskatchewan, where she joined Associated Radiologists in

Dr. Lee attended the University of British Columbia for
medical school and his diagnostic radiology residency. After
completing a fellowship in interventional radiology at the
University of Iowa, he returned to British Columbia where he
has been practicing since.
Dr. Lee is excited to begin his third term on the CAR Board
and looks forward to continue bringing his experience as a
provincial leader to the CAR as the organization works on
navigating the challenges that face our specialty in Canada,
increasing the profile of radiology on the national scene and
strengthening the role of radiology in medicine.
Dr. Lee’s outside interests include travel, running, scuba
diving, karate, skiing and debating with his wife and two
children.
on numerous political action committees both locally and
nationally (at the Canadian Medical Association), along with
being President of the Saint John Chamber of Commerce and
Vice Chair of the Economic Development Agency for Southern
New Brunswick. He serves on the Board of Canadian Health
Solutions, an Atlantic Canadian Private Health Research initiative. He also led a rapid growth phase in Advanced Imaging
(MRI) and PACS implementation in the late 1990’s and
early 2000’s.
Dr. Barry has been married for 33 years to his wife Susan and
is the proud father of four children. He resides in Rothesay,
NB, where he carries an active practice in advanced imaging,
general radiology, and occupational and third-party medicine.
He is active in sports, including golf and tennis, and also has
a number of personal interests relating to medicine and the
private sector.
Saskatoon. While her practice encompasses all areas of general
diagnostic radiology, her primary field of interest is oncology
imaging, particularly breast, thyroid and gynecological imaging.
In 2009 and 2010, Dr. Flegg served as the Clinical Head for
the Department of Medical Imaging of the Saskatoon Health
Region. She is currently the Medical Director of the Breast
Health Centre at Saskatoon City Hospital and also serves as a
member of the Residency Education Committee for the radiology residency program at the University of Saskatchewan.

DR. SCOTT HARRIS
Dr. Scott Harris is currently working as an Associate Professor in
Diagnostic Imaging and as Site Chief
for Cardiothoracic Imaging at the
Health Sciences Centre in St. John’s,
NL. In addition, he is the Vice President
of the Newfoundland and Labrador
Association of Radiologists.
DR. DANIEL LINDSAY
Dr. Daniel Lindsay received his medical
degree from the University of Manitoba
and is a Fellow of the Royal College of
Physicians and Surgeons of Canada. He
has an active staff appointment at the
Health Sciences Centre in Winnipeg
and is the medical director of diagnostic imaging at multiple rural hospitals
in Manitoba.
Dr. Lindsay has served on the Doctors
Manitoba Strategic Planning Task
Force as well as on the Board of the College of Physicians
and Surgeons of Manitoba as its President. He is Diagnostic
Imaging Consultant to the Manitoba Quality Assurance
Program, Past President of the Manitoba Association of
Radiologists, and has served on the board of multiple
community service organizations.
Dr. Lindsay has been a vocal proponent for the acquisition
of appropriate diagnostic imaging equipment and for the
development of competency assessment tools now in use
in Manitoba. His commitment and continued support to the
medical community has been recognized by his colleagues,
earning him the prestigious Doctor of the Year Award in
2012 from Doctors Manitoba.
Dr. Lindsay was the sole radiologist at the Canadian militaryrun trauma hospital in Kandahar during five deployments.
He received several medals of distinction, rarely awarded to
civilians, for his work in Afghanistan.
Dr. Lindsay is an advocate of ongoing professional education
and competency assessment. He lives in a bilingual province
and works actively at perfecting his French. With a reputation
for promoting an open-door policy and consistently supporting
all hospital physicians, he encourages the active participation
of radiologists in a collaborative team approach with the goal
of delivering exceptional patient care.

In 2007, Dr. Harris completed a radiology residency at
Memorial University and subsequently completed a cardiac
imaging fellowship at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN, the
following year. Since returning to Newfoundland, he has been
actively involved in the development of a cardiac imaging
program as well as the residency program, through both the
selection committee and the development of the cardiothoracic component of the curricula.
Dr. Harris is happy to continue as a member of the CAR Board
and to work with colleagues from across the country to
strengthen the role of imaging in healthcare.
DR DANIEL LINDSAY
Le Dr Daniel Lindsay a reçu son diplôme de médecine de
l’Université du Manitoba et est associé du Collège royal des
médecins et chirurgiens du Canada. Il travaille au Centre
des sciences de la santé à Winnipeg et est directeur médical
de l’imagerie diagnostique à plusieurs hôpitaux ruraux du
Manitoba.
Le Dr Lindsay a siégé au Doctors Manitoba Strategic Planning
Task Force ainsi qu’au Conseil d’administration du Collège des
médecins et chirurgiens du Manitoba à titre de président.
Il est consultant en imagerie diagnostique au Programme
d’assurance de la qualité du Manitoba, ancien président de

Le Dr Lindsay est un ardent défenseur de l’acquisition d’équipement d’imagerie diagnostique approprié et de l’élaboration
d’outils d’évaluation des compétences actuellement en pratique au Manitoba. Son engagement et son soutien continu de
la communauté médicale a été reconnu par ses collègues et
lui a valu le prestigieux prix « Docteur de l’année » de Doctors
Manitoba en 2012.
Le Dr Lindsay était le seul radiologiste à l’hôpital canadien de
traumatismes militaires à Kandahar pendant cinq déploiements et a reçu plusieurs médailles de distinction, rarement
décernées à des civils, pour son travail en Afghanistan.
Le Dr Lindsay est un partisan de la formation professionnelle continue et de l’évaluation des compétences. Il vit dans
une province bilingue et travaille activement à perfectionner
son français. Avec son attitude de réceptivité et son soutien
inébranlable de tous les médecins en milieu hospitalier, il
encourage la participation active des radiologistes dans une
approche collaborative avec l’objectif d’offrir des soins
exceptionnels aux patients.

DR. JONATHAN MANDEL
Dr. Jonathan (Jon) Mandel is a
dual-certified radiologist and nuclear
physician. He received his medical
degree from, and completed a dual
residency in radiology and nuclear
medicine at, the University of Toronto
in 2004 and 2010, respectively.
Dr. Mandel held an academic position
at Western University in London,
ON, for his first three years of practice, and was a partner
with London X-Ray Associates. He helped develop a

Dr. Andrew Mason is currently a staff
radiologist in the Medical Imaging
Department at
Ridge Meadows Hospital in Maple
Ridge, BC.
After his radiology residency training
at the John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford,
United Kingdom, Dr. Mason went on to
complete a one-year thoracic imaging fellowship and a further
year as an Assistant Professor at the University of Maryland
in Baltimore. In 1995, he became the head of the Thoracic

clinical research program for Canada’s first combined PET/
MR system, with particular interest in prostate cancer hybrid
imaging and image-guided intervention.
Dr. Mandel is presently Medical Director of Diagnostic
Imaging at the Oakville-Trafalgar Memorial Hospital and
Nuclear Medicine Lead with Halton Healthcare Services,
in Oakville, ON.
Outside work, Dr. Mandel enjoys spending time with his wife
and son, reading, and getting involved in his community.
Radiology section at St. Paul’s Hospital in Vancouver before
moving to his current position in 2002. He has also completed
a mini-fellowship in musculoskeletal imaging and is interested
in MSK ultrasound. He was a Royal College examiner in 1999–
2000. He is currently the Board Chair for the CAR.
Dr. Mason is engaged in local projects addressing the interface
between family practice and radiology in terms of utilization
and appropriateness. As a community radiologist, he enjoys
the challenge of working with the CAR to help all radiologists
deliver timely and relevant imaging or image-guided therapy
to every Canadian.
Dr. Mason is married and has two children.

DR. LAURENCE
PÉLOQUIN
Dr. Laurence Péloquin obtained
her medical diploma from McGill
University in 2002. Following her residency training in diagnostic radiology
at the Université de Montréal, she
completed her fellowship training in
oncologic breast and abdominal imaging at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer
Center in New York.
In July 2008, Dr. Péloquin joined the Radiology Department at
the Centre hospitalier de l’Université de Montréal in both the
breast and abdominal imaging sections. Actively involved in
teaching, whether as member of the Université de Montréal
radiology teaching program committee, in everyday practice
or in the residents’ preparation for the Canadian examination,
Dr. Péloquin was also named pedagogical leader with the
specific mandate to review and improve evaluation criteria
and methods for radiology residents.
Dr. Péloquin’s principal field of interest is oncologic imaging,
particularly gynaecological and genitourinary imaging, areas
in which she is involved in interdisciplinary projects with
members from other medical specializations (radiation oncology as well as medical oncology and surgical services). She is
presently working on a project which aims to modify computed
tomography protocols in oncologic patients to reduce radiation
dosage to patients.
The elder of eight siblings, Dr. Péloquin is a team worker and
enjoys being a CAR Board member to carry through projects
that are deemed important by the members of the Association.
Her personal pursuits include playing the violin, cycling, and
cross-country skiing. She also loves travelling and taking cooking classes, especially in international cuisine.

DRE LAURENCE PÉLOQUIN
La Dre Laurence Péloquin obtient son diplôme de médecine
de l’Université McGill en 2002. Elle complète par la suite sa
résidence en radiologie diagnostique à l’Université de Montréal
avant d’entreprendre une année de surspécialisation en
imagerie mammaire et abdominale oncologique au Memorial
Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center de New York.
Depuis juillet 2008, la Dre Péloquin est membre active du
service de radiologie du Centre hospitalier de l’Université de
Montréal dans les sections d’imagerie mammaire et abdominale. Impliquée dans l’enseignement, tant comme membre du
comité pédagogique de radiologie de l’Université de Montréal
que dans sa pratique quotidienne et dans le soutien qu’elle
apporte aux résidents en cours de préparation pour l’examen
canadien, la Dre Péloquin a également été nommée leader
pédagogique avec un mandat précis de revoir et d’améliorer les
méthodes et critères d’évaluation des résidents du programme
de radiologie.
L’intérêt principal de la Dre Péloquin est l’imagerie
oncologique, en particulier l’imagerie gynéco-oncologique
et génito-urinaire, domaines dans lesquels elle participe
activement à des projets interdisciplinaires avec les autres
spécialités médicales (radio-oncologie ainsi que les services d’oncologie médicale et de chirurgie). Elle travaille
actuellement avec ses collègues à modifier les protocoles de
tomodensitométrie pour les patients oncologiques afin de
réduire les doses d’irradiation.
Aînée d’une famille de huit enfants, la Dre Péloquin est une
personne d’équipe et est heureuse d’être membre du Conseil
de la CAR afin de mener à terme les projets qui sont jugés primordiaux par les membres de l’association. Violoniste, elle est
aussi une adepte du vélo et de ski de fond. Elle adore également
voyager et prendre des cours de cuisine, surtout de cuisine
internationale.

DR. ANNE ROBERTS
Dr. Anne Roberts earned her MD
degree from the University of
California at San Diego (UCSD) and
interned in Ob/Gyn at Cedars-Sinai
Medical Center in Los Angeles.
She then went on to complete her
radiology residency and fellowship
at Massachusetts General Hospital,
returning to UCSD where she became
Professor in 1998.
Dr. Roberts has been actively involved in a variety of radiology
organizations, including serving as President of the Society
for Cardiovascular and Interventional Radiology (SCVIR, now
SIR) and the Western Angiographic and Interventional Society
(WAIS). She has also served as the Chair of the Vascular/
Interventional Subcommittee and the Refresher Course
Committee for the Radiological Society of North America
(RSNA). She was elected twice to the American College of
Radiology (ACR) Council Steering Committee and became a
DR. ROBERT SEVICK
Dr. Robert (Rob) Sevick is a professor of
radiology and clinical neurosciences and
Head of the Department of Radiology at
the Cumming School of Medicine of the
University of Calgary. He is also Medical
Director of Diagnostic Imaging for the
Calgary Zone of Alberta Health Services.
Dr. Sevick obtained his medical degree
from the University of Alberta in 1984. This was followed
by a rotating internship at St. Michael’s Hospital in Toronto,
residency in diagnostic radiology at the University of Calgary
and two years of fellowship training in neuroradiology at the
University of California, San Francisco. He has been in practice
in Calgary since 1991.
Dr. Sevick is best known for his contributions to neuroradiology and MR imaging. He has served in a number of leadership
roles in radiology and neuroradiology, both locally and nationally, including Chair of the Examination Board in Diagnostic
Radiology and Chair of the Neuroradiology Specialty Committee
for the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada
(RCPSC). Dr. Sevick is currently Chair of the Committee on
Specialties and a member of the Education Committee of the
RCPSC. He is a member and former Chair of the Canadian Heads
of Academic Radiology and a member of the Board of Directors
of the Canadian Radiological Foundation.

member of the ACR Board of Chancellors in 2009. Dr. Roberts
was Secretary-Treasurer of the ACR (2010-2015) and was
elected ACR Vice President in 2015. She was a Trustee of
the American Board of Radiology (ABR) from 2001-2009,
becoming ABR Associate Executive Director for Interventional
Radiology in 2015. Dr. Roberts also served on the Radiology
Residency Review Committee of the Accreditation Council for
Graduate Medical Education from 2003-2010.
Dr. Roberts has been active at UCSD, serving as Chief of
Vascular and Interventional Radiology since 1996. She has
served as Interim Chair of Radiology (2001-2002), and
subsequently as Executive Vice Chair of the Department
of Radiology, as well as a two-year term as Chief of Staff of
the UCSD.
Dr. Roberts has been elected to multiple prestigious fellowships and has been selected as one of San Diego’s “Best
Doctors” as well as “Best Doctors in America”. She enjoys
teaching, research and lecturing, having given over 600 lectures in the United States and around the world.
DR ROBERT SEVICK
Le Dr Robert (Rob) Sevick est professeur de radiologie et de
neurosciences cliniques et chef du département de radiologie à
la Cumming School of Medicine de la University of Calgary. Il est
également directeur médical d’imagerie diagnostique pour la
zone de Calgary de l’Alberta Health Services.
Le Dr Sevick a obtenu son diplôme de médecine à la University of
Alberta en 1984, suivi par un internat en rotation au St. Michael’s
Hospital à Toronto, une résidence en radiologie diagnostique à la
University of Calgary et deux années de formation postdoctorale
en neuroradiologie à la University of California, San Francisco. Il
pratique à Calgary depuis 1991.
Le Dr Sevick est surtout connu pour ses contributions à la
neuroradiologie et à l’imagerie par résonance magnétique. Il a
occupé un certain nombre de postes de direction en radiologie
et en neuroradiologie, tant au niveau local que national, dont le
poste de président de la Commission d’examen en radiologie
diagnostique et de président du Comité de spécialité en neuroradiologie pour le Collège royal des médecins et chirurgiens
du Canada (CRMCC). Le Dr Sevick est actuellement président
du Comité des spécialités et membre du Comité de l’éducation
du CRMCC. Il est membre et ancien président de réunion du
Canadian Heads of Academic Radiology et membre du Conseil
d’administration de la Fondation radiologique canadienne.

DR. GIUSEPPE TARULLI
Dr. Giuseppe Tarulli is a Toronto
radiologist specializing in interventional radiology, mammography,
cross-sectional imaging, magnetic
resonance imaging, bone mineral
densitometry, echocardiography
and women’s health. He completed
his undergraduate studies at the

in internal medicine and radiology at St. Michael’s Hospital in
Toronto.
Dr. Tarulli is well-known as a strong exponent of high-quality
patient care and access to modern radiology services. He was
President of the Ontario Association of Radiologists (OAR) for
several years as well as the Vice-Chair of the Ontario Medical
DR. JANA TAYLOR
Dr. Jana Taylor is originally from
Sheffield Mills, NS, and has been a
practicing thoracic and abdominal
radiologist at the McGill University
Health Centre (MUHC) in Montreal since
2005. She is also an Assistant Professor
at McGill University. She completed her
medical school and residency training
at McGill, followed by fellowships in
thoracic imaging at the Massachusetts General Hospital and in
abdominal imaging at the McGill University Health Centre.
Lung cancer screening with low dose CT is a particular area of
interest. Dr. Taylor is the principal investigator for the Montreal
site of the International Early Lung Cancer Action Project
(I-ELCAP) and is currently the chairperson of the radiology
guidelines working group for the Pan-Canadian Lung Cancer
Screening Network.

Association section on Diagnostic Imaging. Dr. Tarulli is a
diagnostic imaging assessor for the College of Physicians and
Surgeons of Ontario and also served as a former President
of the medical staff. He is responsible for the creation of the
OAR’s Continuing Medical Education (CME) program, which
has become Canada’s largest medical imaging CME program
for radiologists and technologists. He is also a co-founder
of the Canadian Bone Mineral Densitometry Facility
Accreditation Program that has accredited one-third of the
DXA units in Ontario since its inception.
Dr. Tarulli has worked in all practice settings, including an
academic practice in Hamilton and a major community hospital in Toronto, as well as in a number of physician-owned
Independent Health Facility clinics. He is the author of several
publications.
Dr. Tarulli is married and has three children, two of which are
currently training to be diagnostic radiologists.
Dr. Taylor is an examiner for the Royal College of Physicians
and Surgeons of Canada, as well as the Director of the Thoracic
Imaging Fellowship Program at the MUHC and the Program
Director of the McGill Radiology Residency Program. In the past,
she has served as the editor-in-chief and executive officer of the
Board of Directors of the McGill Journal of Medicine.
A member of the Board of the CAR since April 2010, Dr. Taylor
would like to continue working to promote the role of the radiologist as a crucial member and leader of the healthcare team,
and to continue promoting the CAR’s excellent work in lifelong
learning for its residents, fellows and practicing members.
Outside of medicine, Dr. Taylor enjoys travel, cooking, music and
reading. She is married with one daughter.

DR. KARI VISSCHER
Dr. Kari Visscher is currently a thirdyear radiology resident at Western
University, in London, ON. Prior to residency, she completed a Doctorate in
Medicine and a Masters of Biomedical
Communication at the University of
Toronto. Her research interest is in
undergraduate medical education
and the role of resident mentors.
DR. JASON WONG
Dr. Jason Wong is an interventional
radiologist working as a partner of EFW
Radiology. He is based at the tertiary
care Foothills Medical Centre in Calgary
and is a Clinical Associate Professor at
the Cumming School of Medicine at the
University of Calgary.
Dr. Wong completed his medical degree
and radiology residency at the University of Calgary. Following
this, Dr. Wong completed an interventional radiology fellowship
at Stanford University School of Medicine, in California, where he
also did a mini cardiac imaging fellowship.
Dr. Wong is the President Elect for the Canadian Interventional
Radiology Association (CIRA) and has been on the CIRA

Dr. Visscher is excited to be joining the CAR Board this year as
the Resident Representative. Her goal is to better understand
policy and governance, while contributing a fresh perspective
formed by years of close interaction with Canadian undergraduate medical students.
In her spare time, Dr. Visscher enjoys oil painting and cooking,
especially with her two young sons.

involved in teaching medical students, residents, and fellows
at the University of Calgary. He was the fellowship director for
the Department of Radiology of the University of Calgary from
2008-2014, and has been an active member of its Residency
Program Committee since 2007. Dr. Wong is a current examiner
at the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada.
Dr. Wong’s practice is focused on aortic interventions, oncologic
treatments, venous disease, and cardiovascular imaging.
Dr. Wong enjoys spending time with his wife Seline and their
two sons, Logan and Luke. The family can be seen skiing, golfing,
boating, or catching a hockey or lacrosse game.
