Research
In my research activity, I studied the temperature front adsorption heat pumps. An
analytical model was first developed to determine the conditions of establishment of
temperature front. Then a mathematical model was developed in order to simulate
dynamically the mode of operation of an adsorption heat pump with heat recovery
(regenerative heat pump). The model is bidimentional and takes into account heat and mass
transfers in the packed bed heated by an external fluid and convective heat transfer due to
fluid flow, represented by the Ergun law. The working pairs used in calculations were
zeolite-water and zeolite-ammonia, which differ by their operating pressures. The numerical
results show the importance of taking the hydrodynamics into consideration in system at low
operating pressure (the case of zeolite-water).
Professional experiences
From 1995 to 1996, I worked in the CEntre NAtional de Formation de Formateurs et
d'Ingénierie de Formation (CENAFFIF-Tunisia), which depends of the Tunisian Ministry of
Professional education and employment.
