Head for the center of France : After Bordeaux, Colmar, La Baule, Nuits Saint Georges, St. Brieuc, Mende,
Moulins, Nuits Saint Georges a second time, Vannes, Amboise will enable us to discover a region of France
which bathes in history : 'the Chateaux region'.

On flying above the châteaux : Besides the usual restrictions as to flying over built up areas, please consult
airport plates and NOTAMS. There may be specific restrictions restricting flights over specific castles.
Arrival/Departures : You may arrive as early as Friday morning and leave whenever you wish to. We do not
anticipate any restrictions. You should however check Amboise-Dierre (LFEF) NOTAMs. Be on the lookout
Friday morning as to activation of the Tours TMA (military).
Within the Amboise-Dierre (LFEF) communications should be held in French.
Joining of non controlled field is similar to UK joining – arrive via dead side 500' above pattern and join down
wind leg as usual. Before landing be on the lookout for aircraft which may be going up the runway as there is
no taxiway parallel to the runway.
The organizers decline all responsibility as to the proper observance of regulations.
Customs :Amboise not being an entry airport, participants arriving from non Schengen countries must clear
customs before coming into Amboise.
Runways : There are two 11/29 runways, parallel to each other, hard 600 x 25m and grass 700 x 60M – exit
on west side towards the aeroclub buildings and grass parking area.
Refueling : 100LL fuel available from a Total station. Payment via a Total card or with Euros via the aeroclub.
Please refuel on arrival if during station hours.
Aircraft Parking : The site is large enough so that parking should not limit the number of aircraft attending the
fly-in. RVs will be parked in a grassed area in front of the aeroclub building. RV-As, depending on available
space, will be parked in the hard surface tarmac area without tie-down facilities. Pilots are responsible for
parking and properly tying down their airplane. Parking marshalls will guide pilots upon arrival. Please wear
your yellow jacket when in the aircraft reserved area.
Registration : After parking and securing their airplanes, pilots are requested to register with the organizers at
a booth located in the aero club hangar and thereby obtain tickets for meals and badges. Payment may be
effected in cash € or check on a French bank. Visitors from non € countries are requested to obtain Euros
before departure as there are no cash machines in the airport. Once registered, luggage may be stored
temporarily in the aero club prior to transfer to the hotel. Finally, those pilots eager to have their joy and pride
rewarded by the VCF jury should identify themselves when registering. As was done at Vannes, prizes will be
in the form of goodies graciously offered by Van’s.
Taxes d’atterrissage et de stationnement : There will be an 8€ airport tax payable directly to the Van's Club
upon registration at arrival.
WIFI – There will be WiFi access thanks to the aeroclub.
Weather : Pilots may use the aero club’s computers to obtain weather info. Situational bulletins will be posted
regularly. An automatic weather station transmits regular METARs on the hour.
Repas : Un service de restauration sera assuré sur place dans le hangar de l’Aéroclub, pendant la durée du
rassemblement, sauf pour le repas de gala du samedi soir. Pour le vendredi midi, la SHUTTLE permettra
d’accéder à un restaurant proche de l’aéroport.
Meals : Food will be offered from within the aero club’s hangar from Friday evening to Sunday lunch, except
for Saturday night. Our shuttle will enable access to a nearby restaurant.

Open Bar : Given it’s success at Nuits St. Georges and Vannes we have decided to continue with the Open
Bar. There will be one BUT YOU MUST WEAR YOUR BADGE!!! Free beer – We ask that you be
reasonable…
Lodging : There are lots of hotels in town, some near the airport. Hotels and 3 B&Bs are located near the
airport. Camping next to the airplanes will be possible.
Transport to/from the airport A VCF minibus shuttle service will be held between the airport, the camping
ground and hotels marked with an * below. Participants who come with their cars will be requested to
participate in the shuttle service keeping within the spirit of VCF fly-ins. As to the Saturday night gala diner,
return to hotels and to the camping grounds will be assured. We shall leave no one stranded.
Tourism : The Chateaux region is truly rich, as are most parts of France (we are not being chauvinistic, not
much that is). We have compiled below several links which should help you discover the region. Hopefully the
weather will be perfect. Tourism has become a highly developed activity. If possible, try to take some time off
to visit at least Amboise and Chambord.
