to the assessment of the language learning of their students

Alberta emphasizes local decision making:
• Each school jurisdiction can use the DELF and the DALF exams if it deems them
beneficial to its students’ needs (Immersion Journal, Volume 33, Numero 3, Automne 2011)
• Alberta Education concurs with CMEC’s view that the CEFR can be used as a
reference tool to promote the establishment of local and regional initiatives to support
language learning (CMEC, January 2010)
L’Alberta favorise l’autonomie locale:
• Chaque conseil scolaire peut se servir des examens DELF/DALF selon les bienfaits
relatifs aux besoins des élèves (Journal de l’immersion, Volume 33, Numero 3, Automne 2011)
• Alberta Education abonde dans le même sens que le CMEC, c’est-à-dire qu’il est
d’accord que le CERC soit utilisé comme outil de référence pour promouvoir
l’établissement d’initiatives locales et régionales pour appuyer l’apprentissage des

Under the 2009-2013 Protocol, several Alberta jurisdictions receive federal funding to
support the DELF/DALF services such as:
• Offering training sessions to educators, students and parents to familiarize them
with the expectations of the Common European Framework of Reference (CEFR)
and the available level of DELF/ DALF accreditation
• Becoming accredited as a DELF/DALF Centre through the CIEP (Centre
international d’études pédagogiques) in France
Plusieurs conseils scolaires albertains reçoivent des fonds fédéraux sous l’égide du
Protocole 2009-2013 pour appuyer les services DELF/DALF en :
• offrant des sessions de formation aux éducateurs, élèves et parents pour les
familiariser avec les attentes du CERC et le niveau d’atteinte disponible par le biais
de l’accréditation DELF/DALF
• obtenant une accréditation comme Centre DELF/DALF par l’intermédiaire du CIEP

Testing/Language Portfolio) along with the Alberta FLA Program of Studies in

Building educators capacity throughout the province to support the French Second
