Beginners course
Starting the 1st Cycle of FFVL’s free Flying passport.
The first step to get the basic movements of piloting.
Guided by professional instructors, you will learn all the aspects of this sport. You will progress at your own pace
and after a few days you will do your first solo flights in radio contact with your teacher.
The practice session is mainly in the morning when the aerologique conditions are quiet. The afternoon is used to
learn theoretical aspects of flying.
Program: Beginners course
4 to 5 days in a group from 4 to 10 people
White, yellow and orange levels of the free flying passport of the French federation (beginning of the cycle 1).
1st to 3rd day :
•
learning to control the wing on the ground on a small slope. First feeling of gliding and theoretical
ideas.
•
Learning to react automatically by repeating the basic movements.
•
First sensation of taking off on a school slope, association of theory to the practice : notion of
piloting and of a flight plan.
4th & 5th day:
•
depending on your progression, first big solo flight (under the radio guidance of two teachers).
•
Learning to respect the flight plan and theoretical aspects : analysing your flight.
•
One or two flights each day depending on the weather conditions.
If we feel it is necessary, or if you really prefer, your first flight could be done with your instructor in a tandem.
This pedagogic flight will put you in the real situation of flying with a maximum of security as your first flight is
done with the teacher behind you.

Share a passion
Level white, yellow and orange of the free flying passport of the French federation (beginning of the cycle 1).
A method with an adapted pedagogy possible all year round.
Apprenticeship efficient and adapted to your time planning.
You will do a minimum of 4 tandem flights during which you will pilot under the advice of your teacher. The
practice on the school slope will give you the good technical movements necessary for your first solo flights.
3 first days : tandem flights and slope school & theoretical lessons.
4th day : one or two solo flights if you feel ready (under the radio guidance of two teachers).

Level required & Physical conditions
No preliminary experience is necessary. It is possible for anyone from 12 years old (with the authorisation of the
parents). You must have a good physical condition to make progress securely. A medical certificate is necessary for
the delivery of the “titre de participation 9 days”, or primo licence & insurance.
Exceptionally, nationals of the European Community and third countries may produce a certificate signed by a
doctor registered with the council of his country, on condition that the applicant provide certification of registration
of the doctor consulted.The school is required to verify the document. The member retains the medical certificate
Flying is a voluntary act outside of everyday life. Your progress in this activity will depend on your motivation and
engagement. You are the only pilot on board !
Validation of your progression following the FFVL pilot's passport.
Rates
* 5 days course in collective group (from 4 to 10 people) : 125 € per day (100 € for a morning
of course if the instructor cancel the rest of the day due to meteorologic conditions).
* Special “Gens du Pays” course : 395 € for the 5 days
* 4 days course in private lessons 3 to 4 days depending on your planning : 330 € per day (250 € for a morning of course
if the instructor cancel the rest of the day due to meteorologic conditions).
* discount Price : young people 12 - 18 years old on our begining and advance training courses 10 % of reduction
(except on low cost promotion “GDP” course).

The prices include
* Tuition of instructors with a state diploma BEES 1 st degree & BPJEPS & DEJEPS (or a student teacher
BPJEPS) : one on the school slope, two for the solo flights.
* Flying equipment (modern glider, harness with back protection, helmet, radio, rescue parachute).
* Transport in a 9 seater minibus between the different sites.
* The FFVL Pilot's passport, Notebook of theory for beginners
* Payment : by cash money, or on-line by bank card or by bank transfers, or Check (euros) payable to the school “les
Ailes du Mont Blanc” or by holiday voucher ANCV. For the payment of the balance, we are not equipped with a card
terminal, we can not set of credit card payment (payment only CB by the web).
Every half day or hour started (weather briefing, moving to the flying site even if you don’t fly due to
aerological or meteorological conditions) will be invoiced. If we cancel one half day due to very bad meteo, this
half day will not be invoiced.
The whole day is about 6 hours, half day about 3 hours.
The prices do not include
* FFVL licence and insurance information (Fédération Française de Vol Libre), to chose (provisional information

∗ « Licence activité encadrée en école » (annual membership, under instruction only): 48 €
∗ « Licence groupe jeune » (under 25 year's old): 18 € (annual membership, under instruction only)
∗ Optional coverage insurances strongly advised: Individual accident annual: 22,40 € / 31,30 € / 54,40 € depending
on the contract chosen // 11.50 € (for 9 days).
∗ Repatriation insurance: annual 50 € (for one day: 6 € contact air courtage)

Personal Equipment
Sport clothes (no shorts, long tee-shirts with long sleeves), warm clothes for the flight, hiking shoes, light gloves,
sunglasses.
