Biologische voeding onstaat uit een landbouwsysteem dat streeft naar het milieuvriendelijk telen en
respect voor dierenwelzijn. Zo worden er vrijwel geen synthetische of chemische bestrijdingsmiddelen
gebruikt, maar eerder natuurlijke methoden om een betere biologische kringloop te bekomen.
Met respect voor dierenwelzijn krijgen ook dieren de kans om op een natuurlijkere wijze te leven: meer
ruimte, zo min mogelijk ingrepen, geen preventieve medicatie e.d.
L’alimentation biologique provient d’un système agricole qui ambitionne la culture écologique et le
respect pour le bien-être des animaux. Dés lors quasiment aucun pesticide synthétique ou chimique
est utilisé mais plutôt des méthodes naturelles afin d’arriver à un meilleur cycle biologique.
En respectant le bien-être des animaux ils auront eux-aussi la possibilité de mener une vie naturelle :
plus d’espace, un minimum d’interventions, pas de médication préventive, e.a.
Organic food results from an agricultural system aiming environmentally friendly cultivation and
respect for animal welfare. So almost no synthetic or chemical pesticides are used bur rather natural
methods in order to improve the biological cycle.
Through the animal welfare the animals also get the opportunity to have a more natural life: more
space, minimal interventions, no preventive medication, etc.
Verwerkte producten die onder de noemer ‘bio of biologisch’ worden verkocht, moeten minstens voor
95 % uit biologische ingrediënten bestaan.

• Ont souvent l’air moins appétissant.
Disadvantages:

Biologisch = duurzaam?
Vele biologische producten zijn op een duurzame wijze geproduceerd. Toch is het ook vaak zo dat
er voor de productie van eenzelfde hoeveelheid biologische producten meer oppervlakte nodig is
dan voor productie volgens een niet-biologisch landbouwsysteem.
Biologique = durable?
Beaucoup de produits biologiques sont l’objet d’une production durable Mais il est également un
fait que pour la production d’une même quantité de produits biologiques il faut plus de superficie
que pour une production suivant un système agricole non biologique.
Organic = sustainable?
A lot of organic products are produced in a sustainable way. However often it happens that for
the production of a same quantity of organic products more surface area is needed than for the
production according to a non-organic agricultural system.

Kijk bij de aankoop van zowel biologische als niet-biologische producten naar afkomst en
productiewijze. Niet-biologische producten kunnen immers even duurzaam of meer duurzaam
zijn dan biologische producten!

Lors de l’achat d’aussi bien les produits biologiques que non biologiques vérifiez toujours l’origine
et la méthode de production. En effet, les produits non biologiques peuvent être aussi durables
voir même davantage que les produits biologiques!

When purchasing both organic and non-organic products always check the origin and the
production method. Non-organic products may be equally sustainable or even more than organic
products!
