The Great Collar of French President François Hollande was manufactured
and engraved by the company Arthus-Bertrand
located in Palaiseau (91), France.
The collar is made of 1 kilogram of gold. It is the Great Collar of the Legion of Honor, the
highest French honorary decoration which only the President can receive, once elected.
The collar is passed on from president to president, the name of the new elected
president being engraved after the election.
The collar was made by the company Arthus-Bertrand in 1957 and returns to the factory
after every election for engraving the name of the new president.
