This workshop is open to all, even to those that have little or no technical knowledge of
photography, and brings 2 changes in the way Fotoasia workshops are taught, in terms of
organisation and goals. Firstly, a theme will be imposed and be the same for all participants,
but participants will be free to interpret it and execute it. The theme will be a modern
interpretation of Ulysses and/or his Odyssey. Each one of you will become a modern Ulysses
and tell the story through photography of your adventure on the shores of the Aegean sea, the
reasons of you “becoming lost” during a beautiful month of May on a wild Greek island. The
workshop takes place at the end of May, so as to catch the atmosphere of timeless Greece,
without tourists! This time of year allows us also to take advantage of the Spring light when
the sun sets late. I have chosen this theme so as to allow the participants to work mainly on
the narration and the photographic medium so as to use the camera as a pen, as a promenade
and not as a technical object, therefore more malleable and more poetic. The second new
element is how the workshop itself is organised. Every evening on a white terrasse
overlooking the sea and the surrounding islands, we will project photographic stories on a
screen or a stone wall, my stories but also your stories. Together we will debate on the
meaning and the aesthetic and artistic reasoning behind these works, mine and yours. Work
that you are free to present or not. Of course, we will be looking at our own story in the
Odyssey. By this I seek to form a group looking to fully live a photographic adventure, fully
immersed in a particular way of “living” photography, in simplicity and friendship, a modern
way of sharing, open and liberated.
Workshop info: Folegandros (36°37′N 24°54′E), at the south of the Cyclades is reachable
from Santorini whose airport is connected to major European cities. From there, Folegandros
is attainable by sea: the ferry takes 2.5 hours or a hydrofoil service takes 50 minutes. For

Da Domenica 24 a Giovedì 28 Maggio.
Questo Foto Workshop è aperto a tutti (anche a coloro che hanno scarsa conoscenza tecnica
della fotografia) e introduce due importanti innovazioni nell'organizzazione e nello scopo dei
laboratori fotografici di Fotoasia.
In primo luogo, quella di un tema unico e comune a tutti i partecipanti, che saranno però
completamente liberi di decidere come svilupparlo. Il soggetto verterà su una versione
attualizzata di Ulisse e dell’Odissea. Ognuno di voi potrà essere una sorta di Ulisse dei tempi
moderni e raccontare in immagini la propria avventura in mezzo al Mare Egeo: il motivo che
vi ha spinto a venire fin qui, quasi "persi" in un bel mese di maggio su un'isola selvaggia delle
Cicladi. In realtà, il workshop si svolge a fine maggio per consentire ai partecipanti di godere
al massimo dell’atmosfera e dei paesaggi della Grecia antica, senza il caos del turismo di
massa! E, poi, per sfruttare al meglio la luce della tarda primavera, stagione che offre giornate
lunghe e tramonti serali indimenticabili.
Ho scelto questo tema per lavorare principalmente sulla narrazione, il linguaggio fotografico,
per utilizzare la fotocamera come una penna, una sorta di passeggiata e non come un manuale
di meccanica! Tutto il nostro percorso sarà così più facilmente gestibile, più flessibile e
poetico. La seconda novità è nella organizzazione stessa del corso. Ogni sera, su una terrazza
bianca con vista sul mare verranno proiettate, su schermo o su una parete in muratura, le
diverse storie fotografiche: le mie, ma anche le vostre. Potremo discutere tutti insieme sul
significato e le ragioni estetiche e artistiche di questi lavori, sarete liberi di presentare quel che
volete. Così, osserveremo e capiremo anche la nostra personale interpretazione dell'Odissea.
L’intento è di formare un gruppo per vivere al 100% una vera avventura fotografica, una full
immersion totale nel mondo della fotografia ma anche nello stile di vita greco, all'insegna di
semplicità e amicizia.
Info: Folegandros, la più meridionale delle Cicladi è raggiungibile dall'aeroporto
internazionale situato a Santorini (Thira), che è servito da voli diretti dalle principali città
europee. Da qui ci sono diverse opzioni per raggiungere via mare Folegandros: il traghetto,
che impiega 2 ore e 30 minuti o l'aliscafo, che permette di raggiungere l'isola in soli 50

Du dimanche 24 au jeudi 28 Mai
Ce stage photo est ouvert à tous (même à ceux qui n’ont pratiquement aucune connaissance
technique de la photographie) et apporte deux nouveautés importantes dans l’organisation et
le but recherché dans les workshops Fotoasia. Premièrement celle d’un thème imposé et
commun pour tous mais entièrement libre dans la façon de le réaliser. Le sujet sera une
version actuelle d’Ulysse et/ou de l’Odyssée. Chacun de vous pourra être une sorte d’Ulysse
des temps modernes et raconter en images sa propre aventure au bord de la mer Egée, la
raison qui vous a poussé à venir se « perdre » pendant un jolie mois de mai dans une ile
sauvage des Cyclades. Effectivement le stage photo se déroule à la fin mai, ceci afin de
retrouver l’ambiance de la Grèce éternelle, sans tourisme ! Et de profiter au mieux de la
lumière d’une fin de printemps ou le soleil se couche tard.
J’ai choisi ce thème afin de travailler principalement sur la narration, le langage
photographique afin de se servir de l’appareil photo comme d’une plume, une sorte de ballade
et non d’un manuel de mécanique, le tout plus maniable, plus souple et plus poétique aussi. La
deuxième nouveauté est dans l’organisation même du stage. Chaque soir sur une terrasse
blanche, dominant la mer et les iles environnantes, nous projetterons sur écran ou sur un mur
de pierre, des histoires photographiques, les miennes mais aussi les vôtres. Nous débâterons
ensemble sur le sens et les raisons esthétiques et artistiques de ces différents travaux que vous
êtes libres ou non de présenter à la vue de tous. Bien évidement nous regarderons également
notre propre histoire sur l’Odyssée.
Je cherche par ce biais à former un groupe afin de vivre à 100% une réelle aventure
photographique, une totale full immersion dans la façon de vivre la photo, le tout dans la
simplicité et l’amitié et sans aucune prétention, une façon moderne de se livrer, librement.
Info Stage : Folegandros, tout au sud des Cyclades est joignable depuis l’aéroport
international qui se trouve à Santorin (Thira) qui est desservi en vol direct depuis les
principales villes européennes. De là il y a plusieurs possibilités de bateaux, pour rejoindre
Folegandros : le ferry classique qui prend 2 heures 30 ou bien un aéroglisseur qui met 50
minutes en tout. On peut aussi arriver directement à Athènes et prendre un aéroglisseur pour
l’ile depuis le port du Pirée mais dans ce cas présent, le voyage en bateau est plus long,

Il y a beaucoup de compagnies d’aviations qui desservent Santorin comme Egean, Olympic,
