Yacine Aouadi, invité d`honneur de l`évènement #OPENMYMED
Yacine Aouadi, invité d'honneur de l'évènement #OPENMYMED 12/02/2016 Marseilles is a city where fashion has had a freedom of expression for many years. The Maison Méditerranéenne des Métiers de la Mode (MMMM) has played a leading role, and is now organising the first #OPENMYMED event, where Yacine Aouadi has been invited as guest of honour. His first collection « 13'015 », paying homage to the city of his birth, will be shown from 20 May to 29 August 2016 at the MuCEM [Museum of the Civilisations of Europe and the Mediterranean], Fort Saint-Jean and at the Musée des Arts Décoratifs et de la Mode [Museum of decorative arts, fashion and ceramics], Château Borély. A stylistic voyage, in two majestic locations favourable to promoting a dialogue between the creations of Yacine Aouadi and those of his masters: Azzedine Alaïa, Christian Dior, Gabrielle Chanel... This first collection has the mark of superstition, around the number 13, which can bring good luck and is an original symbol. An urban wardrobe with Victorian accents, made up of 13 models, at the crossroads between very tailored and loose. The hand embroidered tattoos act as a trompe l'oeil and are the personifications of some of Yacine Aouadi's own body marks. The ornamentation of these pieces, mainly tone on tone, pays homage to the work of the French artist Pierre Soulages and his « black-light ». Finally, the neon coloured zips electrify the silhouettes and rival their button-jewellery in Swarovski crystal, like an allegory of modernism and classicism. Teaser #Openmymed from MMMM on Vimeo.
