For more information on using SCOPIA Desktop, see page Participating in a Scopia Desktop Videoconference - With a desktop computer or laptop section. Users must be autorized by the videoconference manager of their university before installing and using the SCOPIA Desktop Client. Staff : IT service assistance might be needed for installing the SCOPIA Desktop Client on your desktop if administrative rights are required. Procedure Step 1- Accessing the Scopia® Desktop Web Portal Double-click on the web link provided by the videoconference service manager of your university. For example, http://desktop.uquebec.ca/scopia/mt/[institution name]/entry/index.jsp This web link is also included in the meeting invitation you received by email. View of the SCOPIA Desktop homepage below. Step 2 - Modifying web browser settings Activating Compatibility View settings Fix display problems with the SCOPIA Desktop Client. Click Compatibility View settings : from the Tools menu on the taskbar; or from the Tools button in the upper right corner of the screen. The website URL is shown on the new window displayed under Add this website. Click Add. Click the Close button. Close and restart your browser if needed and return to the SCOPIA Desktop Client homepage. Step 3 - Updating SCOPIA Desktop Client Click Install from the Txxxxx section shown at the bottom of the home page. Step 4 - Checking Audio and Video Configurations for your Scopia Desktop Client Please use the conference code from the email sent by the videoconference manager. See sections Sound Tuning and Image Quality Tuning on page Participating in a Scopia Desktop Videoconference (8.3.3 or later versions) for details. You should see yourself as the only conference user. You could use this room with one user maximum for testing. Warning Further testing with another participating site may be required for video and image quality assessment. Please contact the videoconference manager a few days before the conference for assistance.
