Commenting on the new contract Gemma Crangle said: "When I established Terroir it
was my ambition to see my wines on leading eateries throughout the country and to
supply such a well respected chef and restaurant as Gordon Ramsay at Claridges is a
dream. I only hope I become as famous for my wines as Gordon has for his fabulous
culinary creations coupled with his own unique tv-chef style!"
Terroir was inspired during family holidays to the Languedoc region, where Gemma
developed a real passion for the area and the modern and original approach of the
region's growers. Gemma specialises only in wines from the Languedoc Roussillon to
gain an in-depth appreciation of the terroir and the unique combination of producer and
place that creates each vintage. It also keeps her on the pulse of what is happening so
that she can support the best producers or bring ground-breaking wines to her
customers.
Gemma works only with the region's best, often pioneering growers who combine low
yields with passion and enthusiasm for producing special wines. They have a
willingness to break rules, are quality obsessed and insist on putting creativity before
commerce and diversity of their output.
Terroir boasts a growing list of high profile customers including Terence Conran
restaurants, Orerry, Almeida Le Coq D’Argent, Pont de la Tour and Great Eastern Hotel;
Le Manoir aux Quat'Saisons; Le Gavroche, La Garrique, Edinburgh, Roussillon in
Pimlico, London; the Waterside Inn at Bray; the Devonshire Arms, Bolton Abbey and
Hotel du Vin restaurants throughout the country.
