STATEMENT OF WORK
BACKGROUND
The Veterans Affairs Canada (VAC) Recognition Program provides all regions and Head Office and the
Office of the Veterans Ombudsman (OVO) with a provider that can produce certain items that fall under
the VAC Recognition Policy.
WORK TO BE PERFORMED
The provider will provide the following services:
Excellence Award: The image of the National War Memorial (located in Ottawa) is to be cut from black
marble and will have gold coloured filled highlights, the upper left hand plate will be cut from clear glass
and will have a frosted edge and a sandblasted title. The plate under the clear glass is to be cut from
black marble with the recipient's name engraved in gold sandblasted letters and the lower right hand
corner plaque will be cut from black marble with the Canada word mark engraved in gold sandblasted
letters. All four elements are to be set into a natural grey fieldstone host.
For group Excellence Award: When the recipient of this award is a group of individuals, one of the
above-noted Excellence awards will be created. A plaque, cut from black marble with gold coloured filled
text and no colour fill for the National War Memorial graphic will be ordered for each recipient.
Set up fees are to be included in the pricing of items, no discontinuance of products is allowed, and
pricing is in effect for the duration of the tender (unless the price of gold fluctuates, then the price would
have to be revisited). Orders can be placed from across Canada with a turnaround time of two weeks
and the FOB point will be the Destination.
To supply items when needed/required.
DURATION OF CONTRACT: One year from date of Award with the option to extend for two additional
one year periods.
DESCRIPTION OF AWARDS
For most of the awards, the artwork is of the National War Memorial located in Ottawa and will also
include the Federal Identity Program (FIP) word mark (the word Canada with a small flag above the last
"a").
Excellence Award
1) Memorial cut from black marble with gold coloured filled highlights;
2) Upper left hand plate is clear glass with frosted edge with sandblasted title;
3) Black marble left hand plate with gold sandblasted letters for recipient’s name;
4) Black marble right hand plate with gold sandblasted letters for FIPS wordmark.
All four elements are to be set into a natural grey fieldstone host.

When the recipient of this award is a group of individuals, there will be one of the above ordered for a
Region. A 4" x 8" portrait style black marble plaque with gold coloured filled text and no colour fill for the
National War Memorial graphic would be ordered for each recipient.
Laminated Poppy Picture
An 8 “ x 10” laminated plaque mounted, picture frame with 3 windows, on a solid smooth mdf partical
board, which is about 3/8” in thickness.
Gold and Silver Frames
Back load 12 X 15 X 3/8” metal gold frame with burgundy mate and silver frame with blue mate.
