Genetics in oncology is a field of growing importance. It involves both genetic predisposition
to cancer and genetic aberrations in tumors with prognostic and predictive significance.
There is a growing demand for counseling in this area due to increased knowledge, more
efficient and cheaper laboratory methods and also growing awareness of the risks and
promises of this field.
