Hans Wegner Dr. rer. nat., Dipl.-Phys. German and European Patent Attorney Partner Born 1968 Primary Practice Hans Wegner’s main areas of practice relate to patents, utility models and designs in the fields of mechanics (e.g. sports equipment), physics (e.g. superconductors, measuring technology), telecommunications (e.g. mobile phone technology, multimedia) and hardware/software (e.g. PC production, databases). He regularly represents clients in patent application proceedings before the German Patent and Trademark Office and the European Patent Office, including opposition proceedings. In recent years, he has successfully represented clients in many proceedings, particularly before the opposition departments and technical boards of appeal of the EPO. Another area of Hans Wegner’s practice as a patent attorney involves enforcing IP rights before the patent chambers of the German civil courts as well as parallel nullity proceedings before the German Federal Patent Court. With his extensive experience, he is able to provide expert advice to clients seeking to establish a portfolio of valid patent assets.
