Legal Experience
After studying law in Frankfurt am Main, Germany, Thomas Schachl
obtained his Master in International Intellectual Property Law at the
University of Exeter / UK and Dresden / Germany focussing on international
and national aspects of patent and trademark law. For more than 5 years,
Thomas Schachl practiced as an attorney-at-law at a leading German law
firm specialized in patent infringement and patent nullity proceedings.
There he focussed on patent infringement proceedings, employee
invention law, license agreements and damages.

in the field of patent law, utility model law, employee invention law and
in technology-related unfair competition matters. The main focus is
conducting patent infringement proceedings before German courts as well
as strategic counselling and coordination of international pending parallel
patent infringement and nullity proceedings. Thomas Schachl advices on
the enforcement of damages claims for infringement of intellectual
property rights. He is further experienced in invention entitlement
matters, negotiation and drafting of license, settlement and
confidentiality agreements as well as border seizures and measures in
relation to trade fair matters.
