METALURE® Dispersionen enthalten Aluminiumpigmente vonhöchster Brillanz und Deckkraft, die in einem speziellen Hochvakuum-Metallisierungsprozess hergestellt werden und daher eine
extrem homogene Oberflächenstruktur sowie sehr geringe Teilchendicke aufweisen. Diese Eigenschaften verleihen den
METALURE® Pigmenten eine Brillanz, die vergleichbar mit dem
Reflexionsvermögen und dem Glanz von metallisierten Folien oder
von Heißprägefolien ist.
METALURE® wird daher speziell dort eingesetzt, wo Folienprägungen bzw. metallisierte Bedruckstoffe in der Anwendung zu kostenintensiv sind bzw. aufwändige Offline-Prozesse erfordern.
METALURE eröffnet vielfältige Möglichkeiten beim Bedrucken
von Papier, Karton, Glas und Folie und sorgt für eine äußerst hoch­
wertige Metallic-Veredelung, die mit konventionellen Aluminiumpigmenten in der Regel nicht möglich ist.

METALURE® pigments are microscopically thin aluminium platelets
manufactured in a physical vapour deposition process. This
guarantees pigments with uniform thickness and a homogeneous
smooth surface. METALURE® dispersions offer extraordinary
brilliance and hiding power, far beyond that what can be achieved
with conventional aluminium pigments.
The ability to simulate the reflectivity and flash of foil, hot stamping and vacuum metallizing makes it the optimum product to
reduce cost by selectively printing in-line.

Allgemeine Informationen
General Information
Um optimale Ergebnisse bei der Anwendung von METALURE® zu
gewährleisten, sollten die nachfolgenden Hinweise beachtet
werden:
Vorbehandlung:
Wie alle Metallpigmente neigen auch METALURE® Pigmente zum
Absetzen, was jedoch kein Qualitätsdefizit darstellt.
Vor der Entnahme der METALURE® Dispersionen aus den Originalgebinden, sollte die Dispersion daher sorgfältig aufgerührt
werden, um eine homogene Pigmentverteilung zu gewährleisten.
Formulierungshinweise:
Die mit METALURE® Dispersionen erzielbaren optischen Eigenschaften hängen teilweise stark von den Formulierungsparametern
der Druckfarbe ab und können durch die falsche Wahl der Lösemittel und Bindemittel negativ beeinträchtigt werden. Um einen
optimalen Effekt zu gewährleisten, sollten die Farbrohstoffe daher
sorgfältig ausgesucht und ihre Eignung überprüft werden.
Zur Gewährleistung einer optimalen Pigmentverteilung in der
Druckfarbe sollten entsprechende Formulierungen ausreichend
dispergiert werden (z. B. unter Verwendung von Dissolverscheiben). Eine zu starke Dispergierung bzw. Scherbeanspruchung der
Pigmente kann jedoch zu Beschädigungen und folglich Qualitätsverlusten führen. METALURE® Dispersionen sollten nicht mit
Kugelmühlen oder Dreiwalzstühlen dispergiert werden.
Lagerung:
METALURE® Dispersionen enthalten zum größten Teil leicht
flüchtige Lösemittel, die bei geöffneten Gebinden sehr leicht verdampfen können. Es wird daher empfohlen, die Gebinde stets kühl
und trocken zu lagern. Unnötiges Öffnen sollte vermieden und auf
sorgfältiges Wiederverschließen geachtet werden. Ein Austrocknen der Dispersion führt zwangsläufig zu Pigmentagglomeraten,
die nicht mehr dispergiert werden können.

To ensure best results with METALURE® products, it is recommended that the following guidelines be observed:
Mixing:
Before incorporating a METALURE® dispersion in a formulation,
mix it thoroughly to compensate for any settling and to ensure a
homogeneous dispersion.
Formulation:
The brilliance of METALURE® brand dispersions can be affected by
certain solvents and co-solvents and very much depends on the
right formulation. It is recommended that users examine formulations in their laboratories for appearance effect prior to production
use.
To ensure an ideal pigment dispersion in the ink, it is recommended
to disperse the pigment properly (e.g. using a dissolver plate).
However, excessive mixing can cause mechanical breakage and
attrition of its optimized particle size distribution. This can result in
reduced brilliance. METALURE® dispersions cannot be mixed in
mechanical mills such as a ball or sand mill.
Storage:
As the solvents in the METALURE® dispersions are usually fast
evaporating solvents, it is recommended to keep drums tightly
sealed when not in use, store under cool and dry conditions and
avoid unnecessary opening. A drying of the dispersion will result in
non-dispersible agglomerates.

ULTRASTAR für den Tief-, Flexo- und Siebdruck, sowie TOPSTAR
für den Offsetdruck, sind diese Farben in lösemittelhaltigen,
wässerigen und UV-härtenden Einstellungen verfügbar. Unseren
Kunden eröffnet sich somit die Möglichkeit, optimierte
METALURE®-Druckfarben für alle Einsatzgebiete zu beziehen und
folglich aufwändige eigene Entwicklungsaktivitäten zu vermeiden.

For ink companies which prefer to offer METALURE®-based inks for
their customers without having to do in-house formulating,
ECKART offers several solutions. ECKART provides finished press
ready inks for gravure, flexo, offset, coating unit and screen printing, in all relevant systems (water borne, solvent based and UV
curing). These products are available as ULTRASTAR inks for
gravure, flexo and screen printing and as TOPSTAR inks for offset
printing.
