GIZ Representation Brussels: how to find us

Arriving from Germany by car
Visitors travelling by car from Germany and crossing
the border at Lichtenbusch (A4 near Aachen) will take
the E40 via Liège / Luik and Louvain / Leuven. Follow the
signs for Bruxelles Centrum (continue straight ahead)
and once inside Brussels, follow the lane for Institutions Européennes (entering a tunnel). After the tunnel,
take the second exit at the Schuman roundabout, onto
the 4-lane Rue de la Loi / Wetstraat, where you should
stay in the left-hand lane. After about 500 m, turn left
into the Rue du Commerce / Handelsstraat and continue
until you reach the Rue du Trône / Troon (fifth junction).
Turn left here and after approx. 300 m you will arrive
at the GIZ Representation Brussels (building on the
left corner of Rue du Trône / Troon and Rue d’Idalie / Idaliestraat). On-street parking is extremely limited in
this area. If you need a space in our visitors’ car park,
please contact the GIZ Representation Brussels in good
time before your visit.

How to find us
Rue
Public transport: Travelling with the ICE or Thalys trains
from Germany (about 3 hours from Frankfurt and under
2 hours from Cologne, respectively) you will arrive at
Brussels Gare du Midi / Zuidstation. From here, take
Metro line 2 or 6, in the direction of Simonis Elisabeth
(take care: not Simonis Leopold II!). Get off the train at
the Trône / Troon station and leave the station by the
Luxemburgstraat / Rue du Luxembourg exit. Cross over
the Rue du Luxembourg and turn left into the next
street (Rue du Trône / Troon). You will find the GIZ Representation approximately 500 m down the road, on
the left hand side. It will take about 20 minutes to get
here from Gare du Midi/Zuidstation. You can purchase
a Metro ticket at the counter for EUR 2, before getting
onto the train. Alternatively, you can take a taxi from
the rank at the station entrance (EUR 10 to 12; approx.
15 minutes to the GIZ Representation Brussels).

Arriving by air: From Brussels Zaventem / Brussels
Nationaal airport there are several ways to reach the
GIZ Representation Brussels:
- Belgian Rail runs a direct connection to Gare du
Midi / Zuidstation, departing from Level -1. This takes
about 25 minutes and costs EUR 7,80 each way. From
Gare du Midi / Zuidstation you can get to the GIZ Representation Brussels by taxi or Metro (see above).
- An express bus connection – line 12, the Airport Line
– leaves from Level 0, one storey below the airport
arrivals hall. After a journey lasting up to 45 minutes,
you should leave the bus at the Luxembourg stop, then
continue walking in the same direction, passing the
European Parliament building and the Gare Luxembourg.
After 300 m you will reach the GIZ Representation
Brussels. A ticket for the Airport Line costs EUR 4 at
the ticket machine or EUR 6 from the bus driver.
- You will find taxis at the main entrance to the airport.
A taxi to the GIZ Representation Brussels can cost as
much as EUR 45 and take up to 45 minutes, depending on the traffic.
