Clef verte – Green Key
The Green Key is an international eco-label chosen today by over 1,300 tourism infrastructures worldwide. It is awarded annually to tourism facilities,
hotels, bed and breakfasts, youth hostels, camp sites, conference centers and attractions, based on evaluation criteria rating overall environmental
management, waste management, water, energy and green open spaces, food, environmental education, mobility, ... Through these criteria of
excellence, the Green Key program aims to promote sustainable development in tourism infrastructure. The Green Key is an initiative of the Foundation
for Environmental Education (FEE).
In January 2011, on the initiative of Mr. Christos Doulkeridis, Brussels Minister for Tourism, the Green Key label certification process started in Brussels.
Currently, fifteen hotels, a dozen bed and breakfasts and two accommodation centers for young people have already expressed a keen interest in the
Green Key label.

accommodation there, as well as the criteria for awarding the label. www.green-key.org
