Background / Histoire
Marc-André started biathlon in 2000 and has been a part
of the Biathlon Canada program since that time. During
the 2005 Junior World Championships, he achieved the
best North American results of any athlete in all of the
disciplines. Marc-André has spent five seasons doing
mountain biking and has been cross-country skiing since
he was six years old. He has also played elite soccer for
two years.
Marc-André a commencé à faire le biathlon en 2000 et il
fait partie du programme de Biathlon Canada depuis cette
année-là. Aux Mondiaux Junior 2005 il a eu les meilleurs
résultats parmi tous les athlètes nord-américains, dans
toutes les disciplines. Marc-André fait le vélo tout-terrain
depuis cinq saisons et il fait le ski de fond depuis l’âge de
six ans. Il a également passé deux ans comme joueur de
soccer d’élite.

Cindy grew up in Winnipeg and competed on the Manitoba
Biathlon Team for three years. At age 16, she became
focused on pursuing an athletic career in the sport and
relocated to Canmore, Alta. with her family to live and train
in order to take advantage of the world-class facilities
available to the national team. Currently, Cindy is a member
of the Alberta Biathlon Team and National Development
Team.
Cindy a grandi à Winnipeg et a été membre de l’équipe
de biathlon du Manitoba pendant trois ans. Quand elle
avait 16 ans, elle a décidé de se consacrer à une carrière
dans le sport et elle a donc déménagé à Canmore, Alta
avec sa famille, afin de profiter des installations de
niveau international à la disposition de l’équipe nationale.
Présentement, Cindy est membre de l’équipe de biathlon
d’Alberta et de l’équipe nationale de développement.
In her spare time, Cindy enjoys road biking, hockey, downhill
skiing, dancing and reading.

Rosanna Crawford
Born / Née: 23/05/88 Canmore, AB
Club: Canmore Nordic Ski Club
Rosanna started in the sport of biathlon when she was 10
years old, following the path of older sister Chandra, now
an Olympic gold-medal winning member of the Canadian
Cross-Country Ski Team. Rosanna cites her sister as a
major influence on her own competitive career, and hopes
to duplicate Chandra’s success in cross-country skiing
in biathlon. Rosanna, who first started skiing at age five,
turned heads with an impressive showing at her first ever
Canadian Championships, where she took the overall
title after winning gold medals in three disciplines. She
repeated the feat at the 2006 Nationals, taking the overall
championship crown after winning one gold and two silver
medals. After a summer of dedicated tough training, she
now has her sights set on competing and earning strong
results this season at the Youth/Junior World Championships
and the 2007 Canada Winter Games. In her spare time,
Rosanna enjoys snowboarding, hiking in the backcountry,
reading and spending time with friends and family.
Rosanna a commencé à faire le biathlon quand elle avait
10 ans, suivant le modèle de sa soeur aînée Chandra,
membre de l’équipe canadienne de ski de fond qui a
remporté une médaille d’or aux Jeux Olympiques. Rosanna
dit que sa soeur a eu une influence énorme sur sa propre
carrière compétitive et elle espère accomplir au biathlon

2006, gagnant le titre de Championne après avoir pris
une médaille d’or et deux médailles d’argent. Après un été
d’entraînement rigoureux, elle vise maintenant la saison
de compétition et de bons résultats aux Mondiaux Junior/
Benjamin et aux Jeux d’hiver du Canada 2007. Pendant son
temps libre, Rosanna aime faire le surf des neiges, faire des
randonnées dans la forêt, lire et passer du temps avec ses
amis et sa famille.

Claude Godbout

Claude demonstrated her great potential when she earned
the top Canadian results in her category at the 2006 Junior
World and Youth Championships, with finishes of 28th,
33rd and 32nd places in the individual, sprint and pursuit
events, respectively. Now entering her second year in the
national program, Claude previously competed for 13 years
in cross-country skiing, a sport in which she consistently
attained a top-three Canadian result. However, she was
looking for a change and found it in the sport of biathlon.
She has her sights set on wearing the maple leaf at the
2010 Olympic Winter Games and hopes to progress into a
legitimate medal contender at the 2014 Games. Claude is
currently working towards a degree in education, with an eye
towards teaching elementary school.
Claude a souligné son potentiel en atteignant les meilleurs
résultats canadiens dans sa catégorie aux Mondiaux Junior/
Benjamin 2006, arrivant aux 28e, 33e et 32e rang dans les
épreuves respectives individuelle, de sprint et de poursuite.
Ce sera sa deuxième année dans le programme national
de biathlon. Claude a concouru pendant 13 ans au ski de
fond, où elle s’est trouvée régulièrement parmi les trois
meilleures Canadiennes au classement. Cependant, elle
était à la recherche de quelque chose de différent, et c’est
ce qu’elle a trouvé dans le biathlon. Elle aimerait bien porter
la feuille d’érable aux Jeux Olympiques d’hiver 2010 et elle
voudrait d’ailleurs contester les médailles aux Jeux de 2014.
À présent, Claude fait des cours en éducation afin d’obtenir
son diplôme et enseigner dans l’école élémentaire.

Brendan Green
Born / Né: 04/11/86 Hay River, NT
Club: Hay River Nordic
Brendan is beginning his second year of racing with
Canada’s junior team. Brendan began cross-country
skiing at the age of three and immediately fell in love
with nordic sports. After steadily improving during his
first six years of cross-country skiing, and influenced by a
strong family commitment to the Nordic sports, Brendan
decided to try his hand at biathlon. Under the direction of
coach Pat Bobinski, he started competing at the territorial
level, and his successes soon led him to national and
international competitions. Brendan is now a six-time
Canadian medallist as well as a silver medallist in the
relay at the 2005 World Junior and Youth Championships.
In 2005, he was the recipient of the Biathlon Canada
Myriam Bédard Award. Brendan wishes to develop in hopes
of achieving his future dreams in the sport of biathlon,
including representing Canada at the 2006 World Junior
Championships in Italy, and at the 2010 Olympic Winter
Games. He’s also focused on achieving top-three finishes
at the 2007 Canadian Championships and Canada Winter
Games.
Brendan sera à sa deuxième année de compétition avec
l’équipe canadienne junior. Brendan a commencé à faire
le ski du fond quand il avait seulement trois ans et il est
tout de suite tombé amoureux des sports nordiques. Il a fait
des progrès constants pendant ses six premières années
en ski de fond, et sous l’influence du fort engagement de
sa famille pour les sports nordiques, Brendan a décidé
d’essayer le biathlon. Sous l’égide de l’entraîneur Pat
Bobinski, il a commencé à concourir au niveau territorial,
et ses succès l’ont mené à la compétition nationale et
internationale. Jusqu’à présent, Brendan a remporté six
médailles aux Championnats canadiens, ainsi qu’une
médaille d’argent aux relais lors des Mondiaux Junior/
Benjamin 2005. En 2005, on lui a décerné le Prix Myriam
Bédard de Biathlon Canada. Brendan tient à renforcer
ses compétences sous l’espoir d’atteindre ses buts futurs
au biathlon, soit représenter le Canada aux Mondiaux
junior 2006 en Italie et participer aux Jeux Olympiques
d’hiver 2010. Il voudrait figurer parmi les trois premiers au
classement au Championnat canadien 2007 et aux Jeux
d’hiver du Canada.

Megan Imrie
Born / Née: 14/02/86 Falcon Lake, MB
Club: Falcon Sports Club
Megan’s interest in biathlon began when she was six years
old after watching the Canadian Biathlon Championships
in her hometown of Falcon Lake, Man. Megan’s competitive
nature also takes her from the biathlon range in winter to
the rodeo ring and marathon events in summer. With her
parents owning a riding stable filled with 40 horses, Megan
has competed in a number of barrel racing competitions. In
2001 she was the Manitoba Ranch Rodeo Junior Champion.
She also has a passion for long-distance running. While she
was the 2000 and 2003 Manitoba cross-country running
champion, Megan has also won back-to-back titles in
2003 and ‘04 in the Manitoba marathon for athletes under
18. She has her sights set on a gold medal at the 2007
Canada Winter Games, a top-16 result at the 2007 Junior
World Championships and a top-10 result at the European
Cup this December. Megan’s favourite pastime is spending
time at her family’s cabin, where she enjoys wakeboarding,
sailing and cliff jumping.
Megan a commencé à s’intéresser au biathlon quand elle

Man. De caractère compétitif, Megan troque le biathlon

tonneaux. En 2001 elle a été Championne junior du Rodéo
Manitoba Ranch. Elle se passionne aussi pour la course. Elle
a été Championne de cross-country du Manitoba en 2000
et en 2003, et en 2003 et 2004 elle a aussi remporté deux
titres consécutifs de Championne dans le groupe d’âge de
femmes de moins de 18 ans dans le Marathon du Manitoba.
Elle veut remporter une médaille d’or aux Jeux d’hiver du
Canada 2007 et être parmi les 16 premières au classement
aux Mondiaux Junior 2007 et parmi les 10 premières au
classement à la Coupe européenne au mois de décembre.
Megan aime passer du temps au chalet familial, où elle fait
la planche nautique, la voile et le saut aux falaises.

Maxime Leboeuf

This promising youngster continued his steady
development with strong finishes at the 2006 Junior
World Championships, including a fifth-place finish in
the individual event. Maxime improved significantly on
his finishes from the 2005 World Junior Championships,
finishing 13, 12 and 17 spots higher in the individual,
sprint and pursuit events, respectively. Maxime first became
acquainted with biathlon when coach Daniel Lefebvre
went recruiting for the sport in his school. At the time,
Maxime was involved in cross-country skiing but switched
to biathlon.
Ce jeune athlète talentueux a continué à faire du chemin
pendant la saison 2005-2006, remportant des résultats
impressionnants aux Mondiaux Junior 2006, dont cinquième
place à l’épreuve individuelle. Maxime a bien dépassé
ses résultats des Mondiaux Junior 2005, arrivant 13, 12
et 17 rangs plus élevés au classement dans les épreuves
respectives individuelle, de sprint et de poursuite. Maxime
a commencé à faire le biathlon suite à une visite de
recrutement dans son école de la part de l’entraîneur Daniel
Lefebvre. Maxime pratiquait déjà le ski de fond mais il a
opté pour le biathlon après l’avoir essayé.

Yannick Letailleur

Club: Edmonton Nordic
Yannick has been competing in the sport of biathlon since
January 2001, when he switched from playing top-level
hockey due to injuries from a pedestrian-vehicle accident.
The outdoors was always a big part of his life while growing
up, and skiing was one of the sports that Yannick’s parents
introduced to him. Biathlon, being an outdoor and individual
sport combining something he had a little experience in with
something completely new, seemed a perfect fit when he
was looking for a change from high-impact hockey. Yannick
made the Alberta provincial team in his first year in the
sport. He now has his sights set on a top-10 finish at the
2007 Junior World Championships, a gold medal at the 2007
Canada Winter Games and an Olympic berth in the future.
An honours graduate from Ross Sheppard High School in
Edmonton, Yannick is enrolled at the University of Calgary.
Yannick concourt au biathlon depuis janvier 2001, quand il
a dû laisser tomber sa carrière de hockey d’élite en raison
de blessures subies dans un accident piéton-voiture.
Pendant son enfance, les activités en plein air étaient
au premier plan, et ses parents lui ont appris le ski. Le
biathlon, un sport dans lequel on concourt en plein air et en
solo, représentait pour Yannick une excellente combinaison
d’un aspect dans lequel il avait déjà un peu d’expérience
avec quelque chose de complètement nouveau, ainsi qu’un
changement radical vis-à-vis du hockey, ce dernier étant
dominé par le contact physique. Dans sa première année
au biathlon, Yannick a été nommé à l’équipe provinciale
de l’Alberta. Cette saison, il vise un résultat parmi les
10 premiers au classement aux Mondiaux Junior 2007 et
une médaille d’or aux Jeux du Canada 2007. À l’avenir,
il aimerait représenter le Canada aux Jeux Olympiques.
Diplômé avec mention du lycée Ross Sheppard à Edmonton,
Yannick étudie à l’Université de Calgary.

Yolaine Oddou

A native of France, this promising talent has won three
straight national titles and recorded strong results as a 15year-old at last year’s Youth/Junior World Championships.
Yolaine first took up cross-country skiing at age 10, and
continued to compete in the sport for two years after
focusing her energies on biathlon at age 12. She cites
the sustained physical effort of biathlon, as well as its
required mental concentration for marksmanship, as her
favourite aspects of the sport. For the 2006-07 season,
Yolaine is focused on competing at the Youth/Junior World
Championships and at the 2007 Canada Winter Games,
as well as improving her physical endurance. A lifelong
athlete, Yolaine has also competed in alpine skiing, judo,
soccer and gymnastics. Her talents have been recognized
with scholarships from the Athletic Excellence Foundation
and the Gold Medal Club. Yolaine is currently enrolled at
Roger-Comtas Comtois Secondary School in Loretteville,
Que., and identifies a possible career in sports nutrition as
a long-range goal.

récolté trois titres nationaux de suite tout en atteignant
des résultats impressionnants l’année passée, quand elle
avait 15 ans, aux Mondiaux Benjamin/Junior. Yolaine a
commencé à faire le ski de fond quand elle avait 10 ans
et elle a continué à y concourir pendant deux ans après
avoir décidé de se concentrer sur le biathlon à l’âge de 12
ans. Elle aime l’effort physique continu du biathlon ainsi
que la concentration mentale requise pour l’adresse au tir.
Pour la saison 2006-07, Yolaine s’entraîne aux Mondiaux
Benjamin/Junior et aux Jeux du Canada 2007; elle travaille
aussi à améliorer son endurance physique. Athlète de vie,
Yolaine a aussi concouru au ski alpin, au judo, au soccer et
à la gymnastique. Ses talents athlétiques ont été reconnus
par des bourses accordées par la Fondation de l’excellence
athlétique et par le Club Médaille d’or. Yolaine fait ses
études au lycée Roger-Comtas Comtois, à Loretteville,
Québec, et un jour elle aimerait peut-être travailler dans la
nutrition sportive.

Tyson Smith
Born / Né: 31/07/87 Calgary, AB
Club: Foothills Nordic Ski Club
Tyson has been involved in the sport of biathlon since age
eight. His future goal is to be a member of the 2010 and
2014 Canadian Olympic Biathlon Teams. A native of Calgary,
Tyson recently made the move to Canmore to access his
home training base at the Canmore Nordic Centre. He has
his sights set on a top-20 finish at the 2007 World Junior
Championships.
Tyson fait le biathlon depuis l’âge de huit ans. À l’avenir, il
aimerait représenter le Canada aux Jeux Olympiques d’hiver
de 2010 et 2014. Natif de Calgary, Tyson vient de déménager
à Canmore pour profiter des installations du Centre nordique
de Canmore. À court terme, il vise des résultats parmi les 20
premiers au classement aux Mondiaux Junior 2007.

Megan Tandy
Born / Née: 10/09/88 Prince George, B.C.
Residence / Résidence: Prince George, B.C.
Club: Caledonia Nordic Ski Club
Citing her endurance as her key strength in the sport of
biathlon, Megan served notice last season that she’s a
talent to watch by garnering an impressive 8th-place
finish in the individual discipline at the Youth/Junior World
Championships. This result capped off an impressive
season that saw Megan crowned provincial biathlon
champion in her home province of British Columbia, as
well as earn a gold medal in pursuit at the North American
Cup event held in Canmore, AB. A lifelong athlete who
competed in tennis for two years while in high school,
Megan got her start in biathlon at age 12 after an invitation
from a local coach in her hometown of Prince George, B.C.
She is currently enrolled in her first year of studies at the
University of Northern B.C., where she hopes to earn a
degree in English or psychology, with plans to one day work
as a sports physiotherapist. Outside of biathlon, Megan’s
interests include hiking, canoeing, tennis, waterskiing,
backpack adventures, singing and theatre.
Megan compte l’endurance comme l’une de ses forces
principales, et la saison passée elle a souligné son talent
dans le sport avec une 8e place au classement dans
l’épreuve individuelle aux Mondiaux Junior/Benjamin. Ce
résultat impressionnant a servi de point d’exclamation sur
une saison superbe pendant laquelle Megan a remporté le
titre de Championne provinciale de biathlon en Colombie
britannique et a récolté la médaille d’or dans la poursuite
à la Coupe nord-américaine à Canmore, Alta. Une athlète
de vie qui a fait le tennis pendant deux années durant ses
études de lycée, Megan a débuté dans le biathlon quand
elle avait 12 ans, suite à une invitation de la part d’un
entraîneur local dans sa ville natale de Prince George, B.C.
Actuellement, elle est en première année à l’University of
Northern B.C. où elle étudie l’anglais et la psychologie. Un
jour, elle aimerait être physiothérapeute se spécialisant
en thérapie sportive. À part le biathlon, Megan aime les
promenades, le canotage, le tennis, le ski nautique, les
longues randonnées en forêt, la chanson et le théâtre.
