Counter Story
The tension with the past is the driving force behind this evening's works for piano. The premiere
of Georges Aperghis' work Dans le mur, a 'sonorous' graffiti is hurled onto an old, painted wall. In
Opus contra naturam by Brian Ferneyhough, the fantasies of a pianist speaking in a Berlin cabaret
are staged. Also blurring any predetermined identity, Morphallaxis by the young composer
Panayiotis Kokoras explores the limits of score following applied to a chamber trio.
Before the Concert: Wednesday, March 26 at 12:30pm, Musée d'Orsay, Auditorium: the
screening of documentary film on Dans le mur in the composer's presence.
