Douar Abiad : en plein cœur de la Palmeraie et l'Atlas en toile de fond, la petite route de terre
soulève la poussière sous le regard blasé de quèlques dromadaires. Derrière de hauts murs
anonymes, l'entrée au Bar Sabra tient déjà de l'exception culturelle.

Au rommencement, il a fait construire une première villa inspirée par l'architecte mexicain Ricardo Legoretta et décidé dc
l'ouvrir aux autres. L'hôtel était né, une thébaidc de sept suites
à identité personnelle (indienne, marocaine, afghane, asiatique,
Art déco...) autour de piscines, des jardins, patio ponctué de
sept stèles de Satoru Sato. Deux ans de travaux plus tard, Bar
Sabra s'est agrandi de huit grandes suites (SO m2) au confort
ultime avec patio privatif et long bassin de nage, un nouveau
restaurant ouvert, un pool bai', un spa et un pavillon privé dc
140 m2 tout blanc, aérien ct qui regarde un étonnant jardin de
pierres et une piscine surélevée.

In the beginning he had a first villa built by the Mexican architect and decided to open it to others. The hotel was bom, a
sohtary retrcat oi seven suites of différent «lentilles, (Indian,
Moroccan, Afghan, Asian, Art deco), around pools, gardens, a
patio with seven stèles by Satoru Sato After two years of work
Bar Sabra was enlargod by eight large suites (SO sq met) with
ultimate comfort and private patio and lap pool, new restaurant,
pool bar, spa, and all white airy private villa, of 140 sq me looking
onto an amazing stone garden and raised pool.

Ce deuxieme opus, c'est le cabinet d'architecture AW2 de Reda
Amalou et Stephanie Ledoux qui l'a mtcgrc en tonte harmonie
aux lignes graphiques existantes, avec l'intention que « les
invites ne soient pas spectateurs, maîs acteurs et participants
et surtout en contact permanent avec l'extérieur, dans une
approche contemporaine maîs aussi une attitude se référant au
passe, a la tradition, au patrimoine marocain » Ainsi les murs
exteneurs sont en ciment teinte dans la masse, rose Marrakech,
les murs interieurs revêtus de tadelakt ivoire, d'immenses luminaires d'acier vert reinterpretent une calligraphie ancienne,
les escaliers des suites, volontairement étroits, conservent la
fraicheur de l'ombre

Amalou and Stephanie Ledoux who harmomously integrated
theii design with the existmg graphie lines so that the guests
become more than spectators, but actors and participants,
especially in constant contact witht the extenor, in a modem
approach that also refers to the past, traditional Moroccan
heritage So the outside walls are made of colored concrète,
Marrakech pink, the mside walls covered in ivory tadelak, with
huge green steel lamps remterpreting ancient calhgraphy, and
with the intenùonally narrow staircases keeping shade and cool
