La fête de l`Assomption signale l`ascension au ciel de la Vierge

Une fête civique est célébrée le premier lundi
en août dans toutes les provinces à part
du Québec. La Fête a des différents noms
dans les différentes provinces. Par exemple,
en Colombie-Britannique, c’est appellé
La journée de la Colombie-Britannique.
En Ontario, c’est appellé La journée Simcoe,
en honneur du premier LieutenantGouverneur de la province, John Simcoe.
Et en Alberta et en Saskatchewan, c’est
appellé Jour de l’héritage.
