Key Action 1: Training Course DURATION 7 days (travel days excluded) Arrival day: December 13 Departure day: December 21 PLACE France, Annecy Venue: http://www.auberge-annecy.com/en PARTICIPANTS PROFILE Young people from 18 years old, preferably engaged in work with youth. They should be willing to learn more about the topics of the training, to apply acquired knowledge and skills after the end of the training course in their home countries, spreading it throughout the audience they work with. Being involved in practicing some kind of art like theatre, dance, circus etc. is a plus. NUMBER OF PARTICIPANTS 24 participants: 4 participants from each country. PARTICIPATING COUNTRIES Lithuania, Greece, France, Hungary, Slovakia, Finland LANGUAGE English FINANCIAL CONDITIONS All the costs of food and accommodation as well as the program costs will be covered by organizers. Visa costs will be reimbursed 100% The travel costs to Lithuania will be covered within the following limits depending on the departure country: Lithuania – 275 euro Greece – 275 euro France – 180 euro Hungary – 275 euro Slovakia – 275 euro Finland – 360 euro HOSTING ORGANISATION Concordia is an organisation of non-formal education which promotes intercultural exchanges. Our traditional activity is the international work camps, and one of its main goals is to allow participants to get open-minded and develop non-formal skills as autonomy and self-confidence, by meeting and living during few weeks with people from all over the world with different cultural and social background. This Training Course comes from our wish to mix intercultural exchanges with the topic of breaking borders and vanishing stereotypes in young people minds. We hope that youngsters from your organisations will be motivated to tackle these issues with us, confront their points of view and make this Training Course the most fascinating we can as one more step for building the society free from borders and stereotypes! The Training Course is the opportunity to share different experiences related to these items, both at individual and national level. It will allow participants to talk about their realities, but also, thanks to peer-learning process, to exchange ideas and points of view between each other. The Training Course also focuses on self-expression. The first half of each program day is dedicated to interactive activities about the topic that will allow to go deeper into the subject. During the second half of the day the participants will be offered a chance to learn different means of self-expression through body language as a different approach to raise awareness about the topic. There will be workshops on forum theatre, improvisation, dance, circus and contact dancing, for example. At the end of the project the participants will put together a flash mob performance based on the things they have learned within the week and reflecting the intercultural aspects of the group. At the last day of the program the participants will present the results of the project with their flash mob performance. MAIN OBJECTIVES To develop young’s capabilities to have an open mind for integration, tolerance and stereotypes free thinking. To allow participants to learn self-expression techniques that can be used for raising awareness about these issues in the future. SPECIFIC OBJECTIVES - to strengthen the mutual understanding between youngsters from different cultural and social backgrounds; to allow youngsters to become more open-minded and develop their self-confidence through artistic workshops; to build tolerance and cultural understanding; to learn about yourself and your prejudices; improve self-expression skills both in body language and in verbal speech; to promote the feeling of belonging to the society (at local and European level); to give the tools for spreading the ideas tackled during the Training Course.
