The Entremont Alliance group calls on Sopra Group for the migration
and outsourcing of its information system
Paris, 13 December 2010 – The Entremont Alliance group, the European leader in manufacturing Emmental
cheese and derived milk products, decided to migrate its complete information system from SAP 4.6 to ECC
6.0 in order to optimize maintenance costs and avail of new functionalities. This major project, handled by
Sopra Group, was rolled out at international level, involving 40 sites in six countries (France, Germany, Italy,
Spain, Czech Republic and Poland).

Headquartered in France with 2009 sales of over €1.7 billion and counting 4200 employees, the Entremont
Group called on Sopra Group to handle the migration and outsourcing of its information system, as part of a
major revamping project.
Already an Entremont partner (outsourcing consultancy), Sopra Group was chosen for its extensive
knowledge of the company's IS and broad and deep experience of major SAP migration projects. And
indeed, this was a serious undertaking, with just six months to handle 1 TB of data, 1500 specific programs and
300 reports.
As explained by Pierre Burnier, Head of the Entremont IS department, "We chose Sopra Group for its leading

of the excellent reputation of its teams in terms of customer service. The level of transparency of the business

Extensive perimeter of the services rendered
In migrating, Entremont were pursuing a number of goals: focus on their core business; enhance the overall
Quality of Service delivered to users; boost their reactivity on a highly competitive market; minimize IS TCO
costs. All these objectives could be reached thanks to the levels of skill and implication delivered by Sopra
Group teams.
Specifically, the project involved: migrating the IAS from SAP 4.6 to SAP ECC 6.0; migrating all administration
systems; supervising all service providers involved in the project; providing third-party application
management services for four years.
"We decided to outsource our IAS in order to focus on our key business, boost group internal synergies, and
have permanent access to the leading IT tool, whilst reducing overheads. And this is exactly what we get

This project, with ambitious targets (application evolution, new technologies, cost control) proves Sopra
Group's capacity to play a full and complete role in making such undertakings successful. The project work
itself lasted six months with the switchover to the new version completed in just 3 days.
