DOI and Google intends to make widespread use of the DOI in facilitating its crawling and
indexing processes and within search results, as a means to link to published resources. Google
has requested access to all CrossRef registered DOIs, and recognizes the value of the DOI in
ensuring that "appropriate copy" links get returned within their Google Scholar OpenURL pilot (see

lead over time to much greater awareness of the DOI among researchers as well. There are now
42 publishers participating in CrossRef Search, CrossRef's pilot for cross-publisher, full text
search of published, scholarly literature, developed in partnership with Google
(http://www.crossref.org/crossrefsearch.html ). The CrossRef Search pilot was launched in April
of 2004, seven months before Google announced Google Scholar, Google's own pilot for search
of scholarly content across both publisher and institutional sites. Beginning later this month, the
set of results delivered to CrossRef Search will come from the Google Scholar index as opposed to
the general Google index.
The DOI agency CrossRef is now exploring a more formal business relationship with Google, in
order to establish a set of recommended terms and conditions for Google's use of and access to
publishers' full text content. If there are multiple versions of an article shown in Google Scholar
search results, the first link will be to the publisher's authoritative copy. CrossRef and Google are
working together on optimizing Google's use of the DOI to use the DOI as the primary means to
link to an article.

bases de données Business Source®. Cette nouvelle interface fournira aux chercheurs des outils
avancés plus adaptés au monde de l’entreprise pour conduire leurs recherches de contenu
économique et commercial. L’utilisation de cette nouvelle interface spécifique entreprise,
permettra non seulement aux utilisateurs d’identifier mais aussi de retrouver encore plus
facilement et avec une plus grande précision, le contenu en texte intégral de Business Source®
Premier et Business Source® Corporate.
La nouvelle interface Business Source® spécifique entreprise sera gratuitement mise à la
disposition des clients des bases de données Business Source®. En outre, cette gamme de
bases de données continuera d’être disponible via l’interface « traditionnelle » EBSCOhost® afin
de fournir aux utilisateurs le plus large éventail possible d’options de recherche.

The aim of the Strategic Objective 2.5.10 'Access to and preservation of cultural and scientific
resources' in the IST Work Programme 2005-2006 is to develop systems and tools which will
support the accessibility and use over time of digital cultural and scientific resources. There are
two main strands envisaged to the work: - first, to address the emerging complexity of digital
cultural and scientific objects and repositories, through enriched conceptual representations, and
advanced access methods. This implies strong synergies with leading-edge technologies
(especially in knowledge technologies, VR, and visualisation) to research applications that
address specific user communities, in proactive and creative use of heterogeneous forms of
cultural content; - second, to explore how to preserve the availability of digital resources over
time, through novel concepts, techniques and tools. This has a focus both on short term
experimental work and on defining the longer term research issues of how to deal with complex,
dynamic,
high-volume
and
highly
interactive
resources.

L'université de Karlsruhe (Karlsruher Virtueller Katalog KVK) met, gratuitement et en plusieurs
langues, à disposition des chercheurs et curieux un outil de recherche simultanée dans les
catalogues de plusieurs dizaines de bibliothèques nationales et locales.

Le projet de "Banque carrefour de la législation" a été conclu en 2003 entre la Chambre des
représentants, le Sénat, la Cour de cassation, la Cour d'arbitrage, le Conseil d'Etat et le
Gouvernement fédéral. Ce protocole a pour objectif de permettre au public d'avoir accès à la
législation, aux travaux parlementaires préparatoires et à la jurisprudence par le biais d'un site
portail. Ce portail porte les noms de domaine suivants: http://www.Belgiquelex.be ,
http://www.Belgielex.be . Le projet est exécuté en deux phases. La phase actuelle prévoit que
l'accès aux banques de données des institutions participantes est ouvert aux tiers par
l'intermédiaire d'un site portail. La deuxième phase consistera à associer intimement les
différentes banques de données pour constituer un véritable réseau et à mettre au point un
logiciel spécifique permettant de consulter toutes les banques de données en n'effectuant qu'une
seule opération de recherche
